Thank you for this!!! I've been gaslight by 2 vets over the past 6 months. One of my males has a urinary blockage. He wouldn't touch the Royal Canin urinary food they sent me home with. I found N&D and eventually got both my cats on raw. Never looking back, they are so much healthier than they were when they were kittens. One of my cats unfortunately now has resorbative lesions on his teeth, this is also due to being in kibble. For the past 4 months they have been on raw eating 3-4 times a day, I also leave freeze dried raw out for them if they want to snack. They don't even use their water fountain anymore. The vets have told me I will kill my cats feeding them raw as I am going to give them salmonella. When I asked them why a cat needs soy, corn and grains they all told me "because the company studies this". I am glad more and more people are taking about this. Thank you

This Dr saved my cat's life. She was dying of CKD . One day, I noticed she had a huge lump in her urethra. I put a cup of ACV into warm water. It was a Rubbermaid bin. I put her in up to her chin and began to massage the area. She was in the water for 40 minutes. I noticed the area where I was massaging the lump it was getting smaller. I felt a sandy, grainy substance in my hand ,she began purring. I stopped all dry food, and she ate grain free performatrin wet food. She lived 8 yrs longer. She was 21. Thanks to this man.

@Jesusdied4allofus Buy the large cans of Performatrin grain free wet food. It's cheaper to buy xl cans. You can freeze in ice cube trays ,thaw overnight in fridge for next day. Or buy chicken liver , beef liver , butcher, or grocers. If you're on a budget, I put 5 XL carrots in a glass cake pan with peppers, celery, with 1 -3 cups water with veggies, and blend it with all well cooked chicken liver, chicken breasts, chicken thighs beef is fine too. [ rice long grain],is OK for healthy cats, no because its hard on their kidneys, and [ salt substitute = potassium chloride. Puree it and freeze . You'll save a lot of money. For kidneys, leave out rice . Pumpkin puree is good for cats, even when sick. No potatoes, no sweet potatoes. Put veggies into blenders with cooked meat and[ vegetable liquid always keep that] .Pepsid AC, DMSO , Collidial silver. are things I've also used.

My 7 year old cat has had eye problems for around 6 months. I was told she had small cysts on the inside of her eyelids and have been given antibiotics and then steroisd eye drops. Another vet said they were small warts and she should undergo a procedure to test the warts and remove them but this didn't happen as another vet who we saw a lot with our dog and who I do trust said it wasn't necessary. We have been told now to put the steroid drops in every 2 to 3 days. Surely we shouldn't keep using steroid on her eyes for so long. I am very worried as her eyes are still bothering her.Thank you

I mean kibble is fine. Most of my indoor cats live into their 20s. Just play with them more. Read the ingredients and where the food is made to avoid melamine contamination. The best kibble is has meat as the first ingredient and good stuff like eggs within the top 5. Then when they get older and start losing their teeth you can switch to wet palette. I feed the younger ones with frozen fish, steamed veggies, goat milk, chicken bits or meat chucks (frozen for 7 days) as treats so just to add to quality health points as they develop. Honestly you can buy 3lbs of tilapia for cheap and it's better than temptation treats that has a bunch of corn meal in it.

I live in Thailand. 20 years ago there were very good veterinarians here with the most necessary practice facilities. There was no dry food on the shelves. Now the practices look like private hospitals. Separate areas for selling dry food and flavored snacks for cats and dogs. Messages often come to the phone advertising the latest vaccines. I find that terrible and am now very sensitive to visits to the vet. The pharmaceutical and food industries have also taken over this area. Cats and dogs are carnivores. If you see the word flavor on the packaging - stay away

Decades ago when I was a kid, cats of my neighbours would routinely live beyond 20 years and at that time I don’t think they had dried food and it was rare that they would need to see a vet. As you hinted in your message, vaccination is also another highly questionable practice, not only in animals but humans too! I had very little experience in caring for cats until we took one in from a family who had already spent a huge sum of money at the vets to no avail. She was very sick at the time and would probably have died within days and could barely walk. All I did was change her food to a better quality of tinned food and feed her a boiled egg each day. Within a couple of days she showed improvement and within a week or two she was quite normal although it took a while longer for her to regain her full strength. 18 months on and she has not taken a single pill or injection, not seen a vet and seems very healthy. I did switch to kibble for breakfast and rotate between 2 or 3 different kinds. Tinned food in the evening. After watching this video I will definitely experiment and try to replace kibble with either more tinned food or perhaps something like chicken breast. I guess the key is to make gradual changes and as she is healthy there is no immediate need to do anything radical. One thing for sure - she really does seem to enjoy eating the kibble so perhaps it could still be used as an occasional snack or treat. I’ve heard from other cat owners who fed their cats on kibble without any issue but I wonder how high their standards are and what they consider to be a normal lifespan for a cat. Another thing my cat had was runny eyes and I was told by a neighbour that this is normal. But since my cat recovered, she no longer has runny eyes either so it obviously isn’t normal. Only occasionally does she have slightly runny eyes and this is usually during colder weather.

Wow, this hits home. We have a super-senior cat, & used to feed her a combination of kibbles & wet food. This was fine in her younger days, but as she got older she got fat & started throwing up a lot… on a daily basis for a while. Then, she became very skinny. We began to notice that she would throw up more often after she ate the kibbles, so we began limiting them. Recently, she had a nasty episode of constipation & we thought she wasn’t going to make it. We switched her over to wet food almost exclusively & she pulled through. Now, that’s almost all we feed her, and she’s a LOT healthier than she was. She’s still skinny, but she has a lot more energy & doesn’t throw up nearly as often as she did. (Sometimes she has to get rid of hairballs.) Great video… and it’s one we can testify to. 🙂

A vet's assistant in Fallbrook, CA told me and I then transitioned him to raw. It eliminated the need for insulin shots, but it was already too late and he walked around gingerly. We could tell he was in pain. Argh! Our current feline gets antibiotic-free raw meat and is thriving. He does love to steal some grated organic carrot bits off our pup's bowl every afternoon though. 😊

Dr Jones, I care for many kitty colonies outside (like thousands of other people who care for outdoor kittys). It's not possible to cut out dry food, simply because of the sheer number of kittys we care for. I try to buy the best of what's available where we are & to provide wet/fresh food a couple of times a week. Moreover, it's quite rural where we are & the kittys surely hunt. I leave the dry food in dispensers, almost as back up - just in case I'm not able to get to a colony for a day or two, or if some of the colony come after feeding time. Finally, I always make fresh water available.

Don't worry about it. This is YT where a single 'expert' get a podium. Dry food might not be good for some cats, but for others it's fine. Also depends what the regulations are for pet food where anyone is. If the regulation is weak on human food, it's probably worse for pets. Some kibble is better than others, As I said in a comment further up I had a cat for 15 years which ate mostly kibble and now and again a bit of chicken or fish. No issues. My beloved cat who died a year ago aged 16 ate mostly wet food. Not much difference it age! Wet consumer cat food, even the good ones, have added sugar unless it's specifically mentioned that it doesn't. It's not great for teeth.

I'm in the UK, we have Sheba here too and have fed it to my cat who will be 10 yo in March. She's always been small and slim. She likes Sheba. Which specific Sheba do you buy.? It's just that she's so fussy. I have to keep buying different wet brands in rotation as she'll eat one for a couple of days then stop eating it. I do feed her kibble too I just leave a small bowl out each day because she's so fussy with the wet food, but I will stop the kibble now. She always has fresh water available. I recently bought some chicken breast and cooked it with a bit of water in aluminium foil in the oven, never thought to just boil it. I suppose the foil would not be a good idea, chemicals might go into the food. Will try again and boil it, she does like cooked chicken breast. I have been buying cooked chicken breast pieces in the little trays from the Supermarket, but they have additives and salt in I suppose. I'll try her with the Sheba again as she hasn't had it for a while. She likes having "something new" she won't stick to one food.

I was blessed to adopt a 2 yr old Norwegian Forest Cat from a shelter and vet said he was dehydrated, under weight and probably IBD. I started feeding him wet canned Blue Wilderness then changed to Hills SD IBD wet canned cat food and still his poo was terribly smelly until I add cooked ground turkey, beef, pork chops, chicken to his menu as well as cooked eggs and canned pumpkin purée. His poos are never stinky anymore and he is energetic and he loves his real meat. I give him omega 3s every other day and occasionally Blue wilderness duck/chicken treats. He joins me in the kitchen on cooking days. I prepare enough for 5/6 days stored in the refrigerator. I put out enough that he can eat when he feels like it. His weight is ideal too. His coat is healthy and beautiful too. When the wet canned HIll’s SD IBD is gone I may not be buying anymore. I only use it because it does contain higher levels of taurine. At $75 for 24 5.5 oz canned it actually does have some nutritional benefits. I bought the last December 19th and I still have 7 cans left that I add one can to the meat after I cook the meat of the week and egg. It lasts 5/6 days so the cost of the Hills SD IBD is being absorbed. The Blue Wilderness has carreagean in it so NO more of that for my little buddy. I make his meat into a pate by using my little grinder and add water to it. No urinary or poo issues. NEVER a smelly poo anymore. I have no information what my cat ate the first two years of his life. He was thankfully picked up as a stray by the cat police and was in bad shape physically. Shelter had him on dry kibble. He doesn’t even look like the same cat as he did then, but he was as sociable charming then as he is now. Please adopt from shelters!! There you can discover treasures!❤

I am so glad I discovered this truth back in 2016. I can't believe it is nearly 8 years since I started feeding my two cats raw meat. they are mother and daughter, and at the time, they were six and four years old respectively. At the time, my mother cat had dental work done, and the vet who did her dental work was a dental specialist, and she said that it would be the first of many dental but there was something I could do about it. She told me about raw feeding, and referred me to a local raw food supplier near where I live in New Zealand. and so, I transitioned them both onto a fully raw diet. My advice to anyone doing this is that you must go completely cold turkey from the biscuits. One thing I found in my research is often there are synthetic chemical put into these biscuits that trigger The pleasure receptors in the brain, thus forming an addiction to the biscuits. Not to mention how when they eat these biscuits, their sugar levels spike and then drop again and they keep needing to eat the biscuits and snack on them to try and get that sugar spike. Fast forward to 2024. My mother cat has not had any dental work since until now because her teeth have always been healthy. They have always been fed chicken necks as well as the raw meat, awful, and muscle meat as well. and so, my daughter cat has turned 12 nearly 2 weeks ago and still has a full head full of teeth. My mother cat recently had some dental work done, and before the operation we did bloodwork on her. Her bloods came back perfectly normal. Kicking 14, she has no kidney, liver, heart disease, thyroid issues or diabetes. Her blood cell count and iron levels were also normal. The dental work she had to have done was not due to rotten teeth. I can't remember the name of the disease, but she has a disease that is genetic and that cats develop with age, that result in the roots of the teeth starting to be reabsorbed into the jaw bone. We initially took her to the vet because she was starting to refuse her bones, when she normally would eat her bones enthusiastically. And so we looked and found some gingivitis near a canine, and when we took her to the vet, they found that there was the beginning of an abscess around that canine because the canine was loose, because the root had been reabsorbed into the bone. The upshot of it was that she had four teeth taken out, and the vet wants to check every six months to see how her teeth are doing. but all four teeth that were taken out showed no signs of damage or decay except that they were missing their roots. They found the other three teeth when they did a dental x-ray. now, the daughter Kate, who just turned 12 a couple of weeks ago, it's also going to have to go on regular dental checkups as this condition is genetic. My point is, that when you feed cat what God designed them to eat, then it's not surprising that they are going to age gracefully, and they are going to show these sort of age related dental disease… Because they actually keep their teeth in their mouth because they don't rot. anyway… 5 1/2 years ago, I moved in with my partner. He had a cat that is a similar age to my daughter cat, but was fed biscuits until she pretty much hit double figures. Unfortunately, it was too late to reverse the damage that feeding these biscuits had done to her. Looking at her, she is so different to my mother cat. They are both a similar age, but the contrast is incredible! Both my mother and daughter cats are definitely an advertisement for raw feeding, and I caught it early enough where The damage done from biscuit feeding could be reversed. And it can be if you catch it early enough. by the way, I am feeding my mother cat canned food while she is recovering from her operation. Because it is soft and therefore she can eat it safely while she is convalescing. I will be putting her back on raw feeding once she is properly healed, but it's only for a season I believe. and I have also been supplementing said canned food with bone broth. Bone broth is excellent for giving to cats or dogs who are sick or convalescing from major surgery or injury. And to Off the raw feeding advertisement, are youngest cat is a cherry on the cake. We adopted him from the vet after we had fostered him and his two sisters as kittens. We adopted him when he was 12 weeks old. I hated feeding them the biscuits while we were there. Parents, but I grated my teeth and did it. However, as soon as we had taken our youngest cat sisters back to the vet and signed the paperwork that he was a cat, I was straight on the phone and learning how to raw feed the kittens. He has been raw fed since he was 12 weeks old, and he is the absolute epitome of feline health. Honestly, I cannot stress how important it is for both cats and dogs for them to eat what God designed them to eat. Neither Kit nor dogs were designed to eat biscuits. And I have found set for both species, having raw meat in their diet is the best for optimal health. Since we switched Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Korora feeding when we got her at age 4, and we dealt with all her rotten teeth from living on a biscuit diet in her old house, she hasn't looked back.

I went through this when I transitioned my two cats on to raw eight years ago. It's hard, but the first piece of advice I would offer you is be prepared to dish out some Tough love. And the first thing I would do is not win them off biscuits. Send them cold turkey. Yes there will be some up he will, and they will resist you the whole way. You have to stay firm, and you has to remember that you are in charge and you call the shots, not them. contrary to popular opinion, cats won't starve themselves. Eventually, they will come around when they are hungry enough. this tough love approach is how I transitioned my cats to raw. They have never looked back. My youngest one in particular bought me the whole way. But I stayed firm and resolute. Also, when you send them cold turkey from the biscuits, be sure that you remove every last biscuit from the house. They are good at hunting them out and smelling them out, you have to remove all of them. The manufacturers lace them with synthetic chemicals that interact with the pleasure receptors in a cat brain, so they do form addictions to them. This is why this cold turkey, remove every last biscuit from the house is the best way to go. Remember, they are drug addicts and so they will withdraw. But like I said, mine eventually came round. And they do because they won't starve themselves. Anyway… Good luck. Hope it all goes well.

Where did I buy it from every month? My vet because I am a great pet owner/carer. She died 2 yrs later from this disease. I confronted the vet with the fact I had fed her seafood flavour dry kibble from them and this looked like it caused the hyperthyroidism and the vet said "we always recommend a balanced diet." I said no-I bought the food from you every month for years and you never said one thing. I always visited with my guy friend in the apartment across from me and his cat in the hallway. One day I asked him why all of a sudden, his cat's fur was shiny and he was moving with energy. He had switched from dry food to wet canned BC made cat food. (Bought at a pet store) The cat was so much healthier, happier and energetic at 11 years old. Buy local made food-wet! Our pets in the 70's never had cancer. In the past decade my family has had 1 cat die from cancer in the gums, my other cat die from a cancer tumour under his tongue, and my tuxedo cat die from hyperthyroidism-all were pets fed life long vet food purchased at vet's office. Thank you for putting this video out. My previous kitty died at age 16 because the vet who diagnosed her with diabetes put her on some Iams diabetes DRY food. Only when she kept getting worse did I find the diabetic kitty forums and learned I could have reversed it had I put on a raw food diet sooner and tested her blood sugar levels multiple times a day. I then should have been giving her insulin according to what her results were at that time. Did the vet tell me any of this - NO WAY - just took her level at the vet office and then instructed me to give her insulin based on that one figure twice a day. Be VERY careful who you trust if your kitty has diabetes. Most vets do not have your interest at heart - your wallet maybe.

Definitely if you can transition the cat to a raw food diet. Also, I would definitely recommend if you can, finding an integrative vet like Dr Jones, that can help you to mitigate the thyroid issues with diet, so supplements etc. Because what Dr Jones said about food also goes for pharmaceuticals. Pharmaceutical companies are the major sponsors of both human and veterinary medical curricular.

Harvard published a study showing exactly what nature intended for cats to eat, back in the 90s! I used to argue with the Hills company about this! ALL my unvaccinated, rodent eating barn cats lived into their teens and 20s unless they were run over accidentally by a tractor or truck! It's so wonderful seeing this doctor telling the truth!! The pet food industry is in cahoots with the Veterinary profession! What I call "The Circle of Illness!". They PROMOTE each other! It's for PROFITS!😿🤨

I give my cat key, but I also give her can cat food and whatever meat I’m eating chicken turkey fish hamburger pork. I also give her to. And also, she always has water. I also feed my dog canned food with her all her supplements and then I give her kibble and whatever meat, hamburger, turkey, chicken, fish, pork, and vegetables.. I give her quail eggs boiled eggs. I don’t do a raw diet because I don’t know enough about it and I don’t want to end up, harming my dog with salmonella or anything like that. My cat doesn’t eat very much dry kibble, because she really doesn’t care for it.

In August my cat will be 21. I feed her grain free and low ash natural kibble. Litter is unscented recycled paper pellets. She’s never once had a UTI, and is in relatively good overall health for her age. She’s been to the vet three times in her life. A couple years ago she got a clean bill of health other than an infection that got treated. Just stay away from the garbage kibble and scented, clumping litter.
