Goiânia, Goiás, Brazil - From Curitiba we continued our food trip in Brazil to Goiânia in the state of Goiás, Brazil. It was a day of unique fruits, most specifically the pequi fruit, unlike any other natural unprocessed food I’ve ever tried in my life. #BrazilianFood #Goiás #fruit
Mercado Central de Goiânia - We began at the central market, where we walked around first, before trying a number of empadão, one of the main snacks to eat - a little dough pie filled with a variety of ingredients. It was delicious and hearty, especially when topped with some of the house made hot sauce. Price - 32 BRL ($7.93) for all
Exotic fruit - There was a jungle exotic Brazilian fruit shop where we sampled a few fruits like jatoba, before continued on this Brazilian food tour.
CIDADE DE GOIÁS - The main goal of the day was to drive to the historical city of Goiás, about 2 hours from Goiânia. The drive was beautiful and it was nice to see some of the countryside.
Restaurante Braseiro - But by far the highlight of the day was eating at Restaurante Braseiro, an extremely friendly and traditional Brazilian food restaurant. When we arrived I could already sense the love coming from the restaurant, and I loved the way they cooked the food, all over fire in the kitchen buffet style. The day we arrived they hadn’t cooked pequi fruit, but when we arrived and said was had come specifically to eat it, they cooked it for us. Pequi is a very unique and slightly bizarre fruit from this region of Brazil. It can be dangerous because of the spikes in the center - so don’t bite too deep. But the flavor is unlike any other fruit I’ve ever had, almost like cheddar cheese. Price - 20 BRL ($4.95) per person
Banca da Pamonha - When we got back to the city, we continued with a few Brazilian street food snacks, including pamonha, which is the local version of a tamale. I was impressed how good they were. Price - 26 BRL ($6.44) for 3
Boteco do Zé do Abílio - Finally to end this Brazilian food tour, we went to Boteco do Zé do Abílio to have some serious meat. Total price - 118 BRL ($29.23)
It was an amazing day in Brazil, and especially a regional Brazilian food learning experience.

In india i love the eastern india as their culture food and people are amazing wonderful comparing to the mainstream people i cover 7 cities in eastern india kolkata guwahati dimapur itanagar imphal moreh and sikkim love it.

Eu sou português e a minha mulher é de uma pequena cidade a 300 kms de Goiânia onde o pequi é realmente uma instituição.Frango caipira com pequi é o prato que mais se come lá no domingo.Fiqui com saudades de ver essa comida toda que eu adoro e que já faz um tempo que não como, pamonha com carne de sol, espetinho com mandioca e arroz ,mais o famoso vinagrete. Quaqndo eu qiuero mais eu vou pró Goiás.Bom que até assovia, ó trem gostoso e danado de bom.

7:06 onwards , my mouth was drooling, food looks so so delicious and nothing beats cooking on wood fire, that slow cooking really gets the spices incorporated into meat and veg.

You're a hundred percent right, man. I'm from a place in Brazil that has a lot of wood, natural and replanted (and yes, we preserve the forest), which we prefer to cook almost always with a wood stove, just because the food tastes so much better! There's no comparison.
I love what an authentic person he is and how he always compliments everyone so much.
When I had photoshoot in Jakarta, I was always excited to have Brazilian model as my talent. We have a lot in common. And Indonesian has many Portuguese loanwords. Igreja, in bahasa is Gereja. It was adapted from portuguese.

There are a lot of Brazilian restaurants here in the States. Just Google it in your area.
I live in Goiás (in the capital, Goiânia) and it's the best place to live in! Best food (even tho I don't like the Pequi fruit haha), best climate and best people! It feels like a farm with a lot of buildings! Calm but energetic at the same time. Just love this place! Loved the video!

There's a lot to see, learn and try. Your land is beautiful as well, though I'm afraid I was born too pale to fully enjoy beaches even though I'm brazilian hahaha!

You mean Goiás Velho (the small town)? It´s a former colonial town from the 18th century, former state capital (hence the name "Old Goiás", and it´s internationally recognized by the World Heritage Site. It´s notable for its historical importance, and because the whole town is a heritage site, property owners and the local government are not allowed to change the aesthetics of the outside of the buildings (but can make whatever changes they want inside). Also, even though it is a small town, Goiás Velho has a ton of very small, and home-like museums (one of which is the former home of female brazilian poet, Cora Coralina). I live in Goiânia, Goiás, and most Goianienses (person from Goiás) go to Goiás Velho at least once every 2 years. Also, just so you know, when you go to Goiás Velho you are literally stepping on historic grounds because the slabs of stone on the streets were set by slaves (most likely african slaves, and native americans). If you ever get the chance to go, make sure to go to the gazeebo in the town square for some fruit popsicles. It´s all made there and they have every fruit flavor that you can imagine! Yes, they´re also known for the popsicles. They also hold the notionally known FICA (Festival Internacional de Cinema e Video Ambiental, or International Environmental Film and Video Festival) every year. You know what? Just search Goiás Velho on google...
