Dance Gavin Dance - Turn Off the Lights, I'm Watching Back to the Future pt. II

You always keep me coming back for more
So many faces in the world but I want yours
The way you make me feel inside my bones
I can't remember how it feels to be alone
And when you call my phone late at night
Anticipation always burns me up inside
Shimmy my way down underground, polluting airways in my wake
Swaying architecture, grappling a birthday cake
It's an analogy backfire, in the cliché storm of backwards prose
Shoot the agony beam
Wearing sacrificial clothes
I haven't slept for weeksJust a couple more and I'll be yours
I'll be coming homing again
And we'll tear apart those sheetsand forget the world, a little while
Get to know your form again
Say the part, say the phrase, say the meaning, I want to hear what you're seeing
Say the part, say the phrase, say the meaning, I want to know what you're feeling
If it's making sense on time, then why do I hear their whines?
If it's moves and breathes it's fine, don't let it mess with your mind
Paging Dr mess your patients throwing food and ate his robe
Quantum something can do anything, easier said than done
An accidental public confession was made, can't be the only one
I was in a viper fight, but I'm alright.
That jacket looks good on most people
Confused cause I'm too dumb to find the light, finally exiled
Overcome by circumstanceI put my life in the devil's hands
Fell lower than beforeLower than ever beforeI know it's hard to forgive me now
But I swear I've taught myself howTo barricade the doorI won't go there anymore
Overcome by circumstance
Separated by consequence I fell lower than before
Lower than I have beforeIf I could just get through to you
We could put in the final screwsTo the barricade the door
And start back where we were
Carcinogenic isotope, we need the A-team montage.
Disregard the message from the ending of the album

Once you manage to free yourself from attachment when it comes to DGD's many vocalists, you start to enjoy the music so much more. No matter what singer they have, I always enjoy the fuck out of their material.

Exactly. The more I listen, the more I realize how dumb I've sounded hating on Tillian over the years & that with where they've progressed to be musically today, they kinda need Tillian. Tillian has way more range & flashiness than either Kurt or Jonny & can add a lot more to a song. & it seems like for the most part, they do a really good job of writing together to make sure everyone sounds great. Like it seems like they change their style a little to match whatever vocalist they have. Or maybe that was their natural progression or different people bring different things to the creative process. I can't lie, I love Jonny's voice the most, & Kurt's great but he's kinda just whatever to me - not a huge fan of the Kurt Era at all, but Jonny had to go no matter what. I feel like they can reach more ears with Tillian than any other vocalist, especially heroin era Jonny.

4:00-5:30 just might be the greatest 90 seconds of music I've ever heard. The first 60 seconds gives me the chills, and the last 30 melts my face off with Will Swan's ability to shred like none other.

You all need to chill with vocalist talk. Tillian is great, Kurt was great, Jonny was great. They all brought something to the table, and regardless of any drama, every single song DGD has put out is phenomenal. There's a reason Kurt and Jonny aren't in DGD anymore and we should keep it to that. Tillian is here now and being a fan of DGD for about 6 years, I'm not complaining, he's a fantastic vocalist and Acceptance Speech is a great album. Second best after DBM2. So everyone needs to cool it.

Yes each member has brought something fresh periodically, however Tilian just doesn't do it justice. Reason being Kurt and Jonny had different pitches throughout their songs and Tilian just hits only high notes 99.9 percent of this album and gets annoying

this whole album is amazing and this song is such a perfect closer for it, revisiting for the ten year anniversary of its release and it still feels ahead of its time, tilian did an amazing job on this as his debut with the band. I still remember playing it for the first time and being blown away when he comes in on jesus H macy. At :49 where his voice begins soaring over top of Jons screaming here is incredible, hes like an angel.

One of the most legendary, godly intros of all time. Will Swan is proof that you don't have to play like Tosin Abasi to be a great. I wish DGD would break down their creative process so I could truly see just how much he puts into each song.

It was hard to distinguish jonnys voice from kurts, but both are great. Lemon meringue tie and uneasy hearts weigh the most are two of my favorite dgd songs. At first hearing tillian I thought the dgd I fell in love with was dead, but this song changed my perspective. Though it doesn't have jonnys apathy and gruff, tillian gives the band a more idk romantic aesthetic to it. In my opinion... I'm excited to see how dgd progresses, and hopefully jonny doesn't become an axl rose

nolskeeet I get what he's saying. Tilian's vocals are drastically different to any vocalist DGD ever had prior to his arrival. Jonny and Kurt are both pretty distinctively different vocalists, but they had a similar style as far as DGD's sound was concerned. When I first heard Tilian I HATED it, but I actually gave it a chance for more than 15 seconds and now I'm pretty sure Acceptance is one of my favorite DGD albums. I'm really glad I finally decided to give him a chance.

***** Yes im right there with you, at first when i heard Tilian i was like, Meh... But after listening and relistening and listening over and over again, i feel Tilian is definitely the best fit for DGD. I'm anxiously awaiting Instant Gratification now. Im so impatient.. they've been teasing this album for months now. 4/14 cant come soon enough.

So always I notice in bands that have had many vocalist changes such as this band I see that people hate on Tillians unique voice, and well how this album is supposedly bad compared to their older albums well I like all their albums with all 3 vocalist. JC is a beast Kurt is great, but Tillian has a unique voice just saying and this album is dope
