There’s no more great composer that it was in 70s and 80s. All her great performances were songs by great singers. She did not find a great composer yet.

It's because the world needs a 'tragic note' in their singing, which a majority of popular singers have. But she is of a 'very different disposition'. Which is reflected in her songs n singing. That the 'majority listeners' can't get a grip on... If u know what I mean. Good. If not, it's okay. Not everybody will understand this or agree with.

She is actually very popular in her homeland and environs, but the big market (Anglophone, naturally) is not really available to her since she cannot get the emotional texture needed, being non-native. I am native English, and where I live (Italy) I am popular when I sing, because I do it in my native language (with the heart), but Italian is my second language, and I can only do a fairly good quality imitation. That said, she is stunning on so many levels. I keep coming back to her and cannot take my eyes (or ears) off her.

She can sing French, Spanish and else, Good looking and very popular in Europe. Dutch born. There are some better Dn't Cry Argentina versions. Still love her singing

No, her enunciation is not perfection, though her phrasing is extremely good. She's not a native speaker and will never be able to sing in English from the heart and have it sound authentic. She is, however, phenomenally versatile linguistically and this is not a performance to be underrated.

But then, the song is a contract between the performance and the audience. I feel the contract has been well fulfilled. 🙏🙇‍♀️🙏👏👏
