The Unsellables - From Season 1 Episode 7 "Dana and Mark": The four-bedroom, five-bathroom house features a spacious layout and a few renovated rooms… But it also has hideously dated décor throughout. The contrast is a major turn-off for potential buyers, says Sofie… And so is the complete lack of furniture.
In order to transform the home from drab to fab, Sofie comes up with a $4,400 plan to update the kitchen and bathrooms, breathe new life into the décor, and bring in plenty of furniture to give the rooms a sense of space and function. Mark and Dana are committed from day one… And while Anthony and the team work their magic on the interiors, they learn the basics of real estate from Sofie. The results are fantastic… But will the home sell in time?
The Unsellables - After tracking down the most unsightly and ‘unsellable’ listings on the market, The Unsellables team attempts to transform real estate lemons into lemonade. Can the fearless crew get these desperate homeowners to get smart, let go of the past, and prepare for a sale?

I am very impressed with your design sense. You are knowledgable and know the correct terms in the decorating field. Many of your competitors need to study before they start a KZread channel.

Dana and Marks’s house is my dream house with large en-suite bedrooms and spacious family room. I think it’s silly to sell your childhood house especially they are young family. When kids come, are they gonna again upsize for double price? Those houses from 2008 costs now million bucks… I believe they made bad mistake selling such a great house

I agree, houses today don't have the big bedrooms and extra space that that house has. And three full bathrooms! Incredible! They said the house "was too big", but I wonder what is it that they really meant. Is it that the upkeep is too much? The taxes? Or maybe they couldn't afford the mortgage? If they're planning to have a family down the road, that's actually the house for them.

Duh, brand new houses usually don't have furniture and people seem to be able to see themselves in the space. They have done a great job on many real improvements that should have been be emphasised. Very interesting.

It seems there must’ve been another issue. Maybe some updates to the bathrooms and kitchen. The kitchen in the example house wasn’t upgraded, it was just white.

Furniture stores have more "Wow factor" in their display rooms than this makeover. Bland and dull. Crazy to put a yukky plastic shower curtain in as a swap for more efficient, upscale, glass doors.
