I have discovered that using a wrench for removing the carrier works pretty well, I used a wrench on one of the Ring Gear Bolts and turned the Carrier unit until the wrench is touching the differential housing, the I turned the pinion Yoke on the Carrier pushed itself out. Tried to remove it with two large pry bars before that and one of them slipped out of place Clunking Me Up Side My Head! 😮. No Fun!

Great videos, keep it up. I am in the process of doing a D60 and Ford 10.5" swap to my 2500HD. Going with 4:56 and ARB F/R and your videos have been helpful.

Great videos ; I don't understand how you ruined your bearings by running hot water through them......did you drive dirt in the hot water into them or what? Excuse my ignorance in this matter, but as long as the bearings were dried & lubricated I would have thought they would be fine. Thanks for great videos. Cheers! Brian Hind

Yes the axle tubes were full of dirt. After washing the axle the bearings were full of dirt/grit and did not turn very well. Technically I didn't ruin them since I didn't run them in that condition. I could have just removed them and washed them out well and just reused them. Since I had to pull the carrier and pinion, and since I was not sure when the last time these bearings were replaced I decided to replace them. Thanks for watching!

I have not tried it on my 14 bolt yet. But I did lend it to somebody to work on a Dana 80 and it worked for them just fine. If it works on an 80 it should work on a 14 bolt

Just take the caps off and turn the pinion and it will push the ring gear and carrier out.

I thought about just cleaning and reusing them, but I decided to go ahead and replace them. Mostly because they are the most difficult and time consuming bearings in the axle to replace. Thanks for watching
