Dan did this just days after his Dad’s passing. I’m not sure how he made it through it, because the many times I have listened to it I have yet to make it through without tears. 😢

Although Dan has lost several people in his life, he also has the incredible talent to sing with the necessary emotion needed for each song. He’s a performer, so it’s difficult to tell if acting or not. His ability to express emotion in everything he sings is what, in my opinion, sets him apart from other artists. Dan sang this song so beautifully and impressively! He sings powerful heavy metal incredibly well, and then such a soulful "Last Goodbye". And Dan does both and all in between absolutely perfectly ! Thank you for your reaction ! 😊

I've watched it so many times and every time I see tears streaming down my face. Who might he have been thinking of when he wrote this emotional song. Maybe his father, his family, dear friends or acquaintances that he had lost. We don't know...And yet when Dan sings it, you might think of your own losses. I would like to say thank you for your continued support and wonderful response to this cover by Dan.

Beautiful voice. So clear and haunting. I watched his throat before the last phrase he sang. And could see the struggle to hold things together to finish the last of the song. A very brave young man.

Thank you for your reaction. Watching your face said it all. Just my opinion, but Dan is so relatable because he is open about his emotions, and we intuitively recognize mirrored pain that we also have endured or understand. His happy songs make us feel happy. His funny, silly antics make us laugh. His amazing voice well ...amazes us. Never experienced any other entertainer that makes you feel you are there as he tells his 'stories', and not just observing a singer sing from afar.

Hey again, thanks for your reaction. Dan certainly does put his all into his performances. He is so honest and unashamed of showing this to us. You must listen to his rendition of American trilogy. He dedicated it to his Dad and recorded it just after his father passed.. I wept through the whole song. My Dad went to be with our God 4yrs ago. Blessings...

Despite being one of my most favorite songs by him, i have a hard time memorizing the title of it. I think it's a denial thing. Unlike a lot of people, I've never known life without suffering a loss. The way Dan sings this song speaks to me like no other. Thank you for your respectful and lovely reaction. I always need his Kings of Metal sing after this one. P..s. Dan's message at the end of his rendition of Survivor discloses a lot about his emotional triumph.
