Dan Vasc is his stage name. His real name is Daniel Vasconcelos, which is the name on his very earliest videos. He is a classically trained, Brazilian metal singer who can cover a wide range of genre. All of the suggestions in the comments here are great ones, mostly because all of Dan's songs are great. It just comes down to a matter of your own taste. If you like metal, I recommend his cover of "Bring Me to Life" and his most recent release, "The Number of the Beast." You can find covers of everything from opera, to folk, to hymns, to rather raunchy rock parody songs. But the majority of his work is metal. His older videos have tags on the end where he talks a bit and thanks his patrons (he no longer uses Patreon, but that's a whole different story). A few videos have intros where he explains why he chose to do that particular song. These little snippets give you a glimpse into the kind of man he is. He says his channel is all about powerful music that uplifts you so you can "have an epic day."

I came to know about Dan Vasc through his rendition of Amazing Grace. He is a Christian (Methodist) and his voice is remarkable. Being a member of Vasc Nation is truly a joy! Welcome and thank you for your reaction.

I'm impressed that you addressed the religious controversy about this song and rock opera in a balanced way and also pointed out how it causes one to think about the humanity of Jesus. And then addressed Dan Vasc's performance (Vasc pronounced as in "task"). He has incredible range and vocal techniques which he worked for years to strengthen. He delivers this and other works from his studio at home in Brazil. He has over 200 videos out there on you tube which he has produced over several years as he went from an excellent singer to phenomenal. He did "Amazing Grace" ( he has stated he is a Christian and put it out for Easter) and "Number of the Beast" and "Angels We Have Heard on High" and "Adeste Fideles" and many others. He is a metal singer and when he does a song that is not metal he tends to gild it in metal. I'm hoping you will enjoy more from this incredible artist.

I’m not shocked but I am somewhat surprised and glad to be told today at the sheer body of work that Dan Vasc has put out for us all to enjoy 😊 being as I’m brand new to him , I’ve got some great ( I believe) experiences to come and somewhat selfishly, I get to share them here 😊 and to bringing my thoughts in a balanced way , I think if I were to just go for either “ shocked “ or anything else other , I believe you guys would see right through that and I’d be embarrassed to even go down that path , I don’t want a channel that isn’t at least thoughtful and respectful, even when I might not fully appreciate a song I appreciate the art 😊

Dan Vasc is a phenomenal singer and an amazing performer. His unique and powerful voice,and his incredible vocal range are just something.He's absurdly insane. Just the best. Thanks for your reaction to this Dan's outstanding masterpiece .

I have listened and watched Ted Neely ‘ s a hundred times and more. This man just did an amazing job and I am so happy he didn’t change a thing.Amazing voice to what I think was probably the greatest scene ever recorded.This video should have millions of views.

Yes, I have seen this video and they both have beautiful voices. Dan has two videos, The Phantom of the Opera which he sings with Draqica and The Music of the Night which he solos. I recommend you watch his Music of the Night. Not only is his voice amazing, but he makes you believe he is the Phantom. I think it’s this ability to actually become the character, that sets Dan apart from other singers. Watch and enjoy! Again, thank you for your reaction to Dan.

I forgot 'Dawn of Victory' which is absolutely superb! If you need a kick up the backside at any time - this is the 'go to' song! He sings it along side Fabio Lione from Rhapsody of Fire (one of his idols which you will understand better when you see them together) but the band is his, 'Fearless' with whom he made his albums of original music which are also exceptional. I cannot imagine what it must have been like to have your idol agree to do this with you - his face tells you - it's one of pure joy!

I am obsessed with this man and his voice. The emotion he puts into his music makes everything he sings phenomenal.

❤❤Dan can sing anything from opera, rock, metal, theatre and has been classically trained and writes and edits and everything inbetween absolutely awsome, he is from Brazil i can't believe he isn't world wide, he has chosen not to be signed by any record deals he wants full control🎉🎉

Good reaction. Dan Vasc (pronounced Vask) is amazing. You're quite right. He is a performer but he's one that puts his whole being into what he is singing - whatever it is. You may want to react to his singing of Nessun Dorma. His father was Italian and he sings this as a tribute to his father who had passed a little while before. The camera is further away in this song because he knew that he was going to get really emotional. Heartstrings had me holding my breath.

Dan does a wide variety of covers, and he's a Christian, a Methodist, in fact. I found his channel three years ago, through The Sound of Silence, and since then, I've listened to everything on his channel. Check out The Number of The Beast, Amazing Grace, his Christmas covers, the DragonForce covers, Tale With No End(an original song with his band Fearless), Dawn of Victory, Beyond Belief, and whatever else catches your eye. I'm a little late to this party, but I have subscribed to your channel. I very much enjoyed your reaction and look forward to more from Dan Vasc. He likes to throw little twists and turns into his covers (not always, but they are fun). I love his 80's covers and some even before then. I'll leave a few that I haven't seen in other comments. Stairway to Heaven & The Immigrant Song (Led Zeppelin), Faithfully (Journey), Sweet Child 'O Mine (Guns N Roses), I See Fire (Ed Sheeran from The Hobbit), The Last Goodbye (Billy Boyd - The Hobbit) and last but not least, Time To Say Goodbye (Andrea Bocelli & Sarah Brightman cover) which he sings with Rehn Stillnight.

I've just watched your reaction so had better say - Welcome to Vasc Nation! It's a rabbit hole you most definitely won't regret going down and you will be amazed what he does, across all genres and to exacting standards it has to be said. You were right, that is the Iron Maiden cover you spotted but if you want to see a metal cover I'd begin with 'Amazing Grace' as that's a great place to start. It's not heavy per se but completely enthralling. If you want heavier I'd go for an Evanescence cover 'Bring me to Life' There are so many to choose from but an opera suggestion is 'Nessun Dorma' For another captivating performance 'Music of the Night' from Phantom and then there are the songs from 'The Witcher' which he turns into something spectacular. I can't imagine you will be disappointed with anything from Dan - he even does Handel's Hallelujah Chorus as a one man choir - No I'm not joking! I'm intrigued to see where you go next but as I'm now subscribed, hopefully I won't miss anything!

I just caught your reaction to Dan Vasc's Gethsemane, and found you to be very thoughtful and respectful in your remarks so thank you for that. Dan is a self-announced Christian so his performance reflects that part of his multifaceted being. You are in for one of the most glorious explorations of a musical artist who EVER picked up a microphone! He is spectacular in everything he does. You will find that Dan has an incredibly wide range of music that he can sing. His covers from the Phantom of the Opera are just magnificent. He does nessun dorma from Turnodout (?sp) as beautifully as Luciano Pavarotti. He does metal covers of the songs from The Witcher series on television which are absolutely fantastic. The thing is I'm older I never liked metal until I heard this guy. He even does a acoustic version of a Scottish folk tune Lake lamode or something like that. I've come to understand that there pretty much isn't anything that this young fella can't do. Enjoy the rabbit hole.

Other people will probably have you covered on suggestions on where to go for a deep dive on Dan Vasc, so I'll comment instead on the play itself. I'm not a Christian and I've seen this play a few times in my life, with very talented performers as well, and while I liked it well enough, Dan's performance got emotions out of me that no other performance of this song ever has. It actually made me cry when I did my reaction on my own reaction channel. Because whether you're a believer or not, it's a powerful story, masterfully presented here. The play first appeared in 1971 , the soundtrack was the best selling album in the USA of 1971 whilst “ bridge over troubled was the best selling album in the Uk , it looks like as is common , Anglo American cultures worked both ways , I have to confess ( as I said in the reaction ) I’ve never been drawn to explore but maybe I should 😊 thank you and I’m going to check out your channel , sharing 😊😎

If I only had one subscriber and it was for the reasons you have joined then I’d genuinely be both satisfied and grateful for that 😊 genuinely KZread is a medium where I can just share my thoughts reflecting on songs I know and then learning artists I don’t .. if I tried to placate or fake it , I’d probably get dissatisfied very quickly and delete the channel .. I’m nearly 60 don’t want to be chasing if that makes sense .. I do have an ego of course but I keep it in check ! I’m just having fun and learning 😊👍 thank you for your support and yes more DV for sure 👍

l love dan's voice and his vocal range and breath control be mad crazy he does everthin from opera to metal and be the lead singer in his band called fearless l listen to dan both solo and with fearless on spotify and amazon music he done a wicked good job with it but l still prefer ted neeley's version oh and ian gillan from deep purple also done a wicked good version too

Fabulous reaction! I'm subbing to you now and am looking forward to December 10th. Dan Vasc is probably the most versatile, powerful, and beautiful vocalist on the planet. I fell in love with his voice 5 months ago. Dan said that when he listens to a song, he hears the metal version in his head. A great example is his duet with Violet Orlandi on "Kiss From a Rose." I loved Seal's original version but prefer Dan's metal arrangement. He also does a great duet with Fabio Lione on "Dawn of Victory," backed by Dan's band, Fearless. I highly recommend both, but you really can't go wrong with any of his covers. They are all as good as or better than the originals. Dan is 34, Brazilian, and speaks Brazilian Portuguese. He's fluid in English and sings in several different languages. Check out his versions of "Adeste Fidelis" and "Angels We Have Heard on High" for Christmas. Dan arranges each song, lays down the tracks, videos himself, edits, and mixes them in his garage studio. He does everything himself on most videos and gives credit to those who do assist him. Be sure to listen to any intros or outros. You'll enjoy his accent and what he has to say. (He's also a big retro gamer and has a separate gaming channel, if you're into that.) I hope you've subbed to his channel and will explore his extensive catalog. He is absolutely phenomenal. Welcome to Vascnation! Your life just got better. Enjoy!

Seeing this title it got stuck in my head as i heard it before , and finaly remembered its an episode in Babylon 5 . Funny how some words and titles that are quite unusual popping up in different genres . And have some realy deep meaning.

The best way I can describe any of Dan's videos is that I turn them on while I'm doing something else like painting or writing. But what happens is his voice and performance commands my full attention and I have to stop whatever else I'm doing to focus 100% on Dan. It doesnt matter that I've seen this video ten times or a hundred...it still has that effect. As for a glimpse of Dan, watch his apology video.
