Her music in this one is going African/maybe Middle East -her look is very central-eastern European, her voice and choice of intonation is very Western influence-she’s such a world gem!
Lemmy was in fact a very underrated text writer. You can see that in other songs too, like for example in God Was Never on Your Side, I Ain't no Nice Guy and Just Cos' You Got The Power. He isn't given the credit he deserves in that respect.
My guess is that within music he’s definitely more revered , but to tbf it’s not like Motörhead aren’t iconic 😊
@@alan-reacts65 They sure are.
Rory and Horslips were the greatest ever Irish musical exports.
Never heard of him until seeing a doc on Irish music that would pop up every year on St. Patrick’s Day from VH1 about 20 years ago; I think they quoted Bono as saying Rory was his favorite guitarist. Incredible guy!! I think people may be put off by the old keyboard sound but “A Million Miles Away” is my favorite of his songs. Love his cover of Tony Joe White’s “As the Crow Flies”.
musical legend
can you rate todays music to thid level? nope
I can’t argue against that point 👍😎
Thank you for choosing such excellent video quality. Rory all heart & soul. l don't care what people think if I'm in love forever with this angel man❤️
He really was all heart , certainly from what I’ve seen , and now I’m reading about him , seems he was what he portrayed 😊👍
Great band,I’ve seen them live several times. I kinda relate to this track. They are musically great, and aren’t afraid of any subject.
Agreed 😊👍
6 years old at the album release. Being spoonfed by my dad with music from Ash, Sabbath, Heep, Gallagher, 10 years after etc etc. It definitely formed my musical knowledge and prefs. lateron I was able to return the favor of introducing him to to other classics & newer bands. Anyways listening to Argus is like coming home on a sunday morning❤ Thx for the upload and love your style of presenting songs. Do keep on.
Ten Years after , I’ve just uploaded my first listen to them 😎 “ coming home on a Sunday morning” that’s it 😊
Rory was just a genius he had the ability to make the guitar literally sing. It was almost as though he was duetting with the guitar.
You picked one of their worst songs.
I just started at the beginning , can you point me elsewhere ?
From Look At Yourself album: Tears in My Eyes, July Morning, Title track 2. From Demons and Wizards: The Wizard, Circle of Hand, Paradise/The Spell; From The Magicians Birthday: Tales, Echoes in the Dark; From Sweet Freedom: If I Had the Time, Pilgrim, Sweet Freedom
@xomthood thank you I’ve saved the list and I will go to those tracks 😊😎👍
I love you Lara ❤
For me Rory is on a very short list of truly great guitar players, and always seemed to be a lovely man, modest and down to earth. Sad loss at such a young age.
I just ran into this tonight--Rory's iconic Strat and other gear is going up for auction in the fall. kzread.info/dash/bejne/dqWd17GLqrzUkZM.html&ab_channel=MyBluesGuitar. His gear gets to go on one last tour: there are viewings pre-auction in London, New York City, and Los Angeles.
I enjoyed every second of that as much as you so clearly did 🤗 Always loved Rory (and Taste) and often get lost in his brilliance, both listening to albums and watching YT videos. He lived for performing live and it shows. Such a huge loss. Thank you for this, Alan - hope all is good with you ✌️
Hi Annie , I’m healthy and happy thank you 🙏🏻 and I’m looking back , that song absolutely sits in my collection of songs I want to play when I need and want to be reminded of pure music 😊😎👍
This is the Rory I remember from live performances many, many years ago. I heard the last part, with Gerry McAvoy driving it, as a proud march off and away, with head held high. The opening is so melancholy and grows into resolve and the march away. If you want to share a whiskey with Rory, try this kzread.info/dash/bejne/q4Gdz5J9YMfXfM4.html&ab_channel=RoryWeb2011
Really enjoy his guitar technique ... I've heard about this guy over the years and for some reason he wasn't as big over here across the pond as he was over there, .l. like his style and need to listen to more from this dude
He really is special , just go enjoy it all my friend 😎👍
You'll love the rabbit hole that Rory's music will bring you down.
Nothing in particular against Sabaton, but it pales and vanishes compared to this version... Sabaton put too many instruments and made it "grander" which doesn't fit the lyrics, and nothing beats the somber tone of Lemmy in his version, with the vocals
Highlight of Live Aid was George Thorogood introducing "The Master of The Telecaster" Albert Collins (on the US part of the shindig). Madison Blues I think was the song but it got Albert a wider audience.
I’ve never watched the whole day as at the time , I was on duty and later , well we all just got on with the years ahead , so I’d love to say I saw AC that day , but I didn’t 🥹 but he is in the channel 😊👍
Lara Fabian Caruso! Amazing! And from her From Lara with love tour. The crowd singing we love you to her song “Je t’aime”.
Great song!!! "Reap The Wild Wind" in his Ultra-Vox days comes to mind with that synth sound...... seemed to have that "Morrisey" type vibe.........
@@teesmith945 I also love thin wall “ but he just has a really powerful voice , I’d kind of forgot just how prevalent he was in the charts and the music scene then 😎
You Jazz aficionados, take me on a journey 😊
Alan my Dear Friend. Please react to Roy Buchanan When a Guitar Plays the Blues......and also .......Five String Blues and Petes Blues. All are KILLER !!! LOVE YOU BROTHER. YOUR REACTIONS ROCK!!!!!!!!
Be my pleasure 😊👍
Thank you for appreciating music that molded me. I was 16 when I first heard this album. Changed my outlook on music in general. Love love love Argus.
You are not the only one who was amazed by them. I couldn't believe how good they were too!
@@gazc7684 I just posted “ Israel’s son” that’s something ! 😎👍
Nobody can sing this like Mr I. Kilmister. Sabaton did a good version BUT this knocks Sabaton out of the park. It annoys me just how little respect is given by the youth of today to these brave men who fought for our freedoms which are taken for granted these days.
This was definitely my teenage girl angst song. It was hard to listen to back then--but someone could put words to every insecurity and fear felt by a lot of people (not just girls) I knew.
And angst can quickly turn into longer term depression if the world doesn’t know how pain much you are feeling 🥹
I love how she's depicted herself wearing her heart on her sleeve. An amazing artist. Thank you from an old musician in Seattle
You are very very welcome 🤗
That whole album is great!
I was awkward and shy when I was 17 in 1979. I loved this song back then because I didn't feel alone.
@@waltray77 what a beautiful comment and thank you so much for sharing your story of then 😊 it’s greatly appreciated
I've seen her pop in and comment on several reactions. You seem to get the duality of the song more than some do. Perhaps she'll drop by.
If that was to be then I’d just be humbled , but I’m equally glad to just share and let 1 or 100 enjoy and if ? One person didn’t know the song , maybe they go check it out and Ms Ian gets a new listener 😊
Hi Alan, I've been anxiously awaiting this reaction from you... well done as usual. I appreciate your wearing the New York shirt for this one as Ms. Ian is a New Yorker. Stay well my friend! - Brooklyn Mike 😻
Hi Mike , I couldn’t begin to verbalise my deep Admiration for the music coming out of New York and the New York Top well NY has now and will always have a special place in my Heart , as does the USA .. been many times and will be going again 😎 and more Ms Ian to come 😊👍
@@alan-reacts65It's great to hear that you'll be visiting us again soon. Just stay alert, as I'm sure that you know that things are getting crazier here every day. That is to say, half of the people in the country appear to have lost their minds because of the current political climate. Personally I will always stay positive. I maintain that good will always triumph over evil.
@michaelplotino7046 I hear you 😎
Bitchen hat
Operation Mindcrime/Concept Album..listen from the beginning to end like a story, for anyone that has never heard of a concept album, it's a story from beginning to end , it's awesome
second song I've heard from Miss Ian.., seems to be a very sensitive songwriter , this song seems to be her reflecting back onto how "The Game" was played and she accepted that because that's the 'way things are'.., very heartfelt.......
@@teesmith945 I agree , a heartfelt reflection on what is a game but not one that can be enjoyed 😎
I’ve loved the Trees since 1st hearing “Nearly Lost You” on the “Singles” sndtrk back in 92 🖤🤘🏻check out “No One Knows” or “Julie Paradise”
I do need to and want to revisit the Trees , now you’ve given me a good excuse 👍😊😎
Check out the song brutal planet. The live one from brutally live.
On it 😎👍
Alice Cooper is always a win ❤
I’m beginning to learn that with each visit 😊😎👍
We love Dan❤
AC definitely found his niche with his "theatric rock" in the seventies. his band seemed a little rough, and maybe thats what made em sound good..,, never heard this cut before....., maybe have to give that album a listen too......
What’s great for me , is that I kind of experienced the 70’s , well I grew up in them , but music wasn’t my first love as a teenager it was sport, but sports best friend was music 🤔 so now I look back and I’m realising just how much my life was bieng influenced by 70’s music .. I was just not mature enough to understand how ! Not sure I’m now 😂👍
What an honest and unpretentious reaction. So refreshing in today's ego gobbling maniac's. Subscribed. 👍
Very kind words😊 and I hope that I just keep doing what I’m doing for a long time to come , with my ego in check ✔️ really am grateful for your support and sub 😊
My favorite AC LP.....
@@andyfletcher3561 I’m going to enjoy going to that album for more 😊 can you recommend or give me your fave track ?

This song would've been so much better if it had ended at 15:15. The dual lead guitars by Wishbone Ash is their calling-card which distinguished them from so many other bands in the terrific 1970s. i always loved whenever Wishbone Ash went into their instrumental sections, but I never really cared for their vocals, except for Phoenix, which is another gem. Their first 4 albums are very good, but after that not so much!
Incredible Rory❤️
Love your analysis. I'm rather obsessed with Rory's energy, the dicotomy. He's really a quiet person off stage. Thank you!
Pinned your thoughts , so kind of you 😊👍
Love this song from Rory. He always leaves me happy ❤️
Me as well 😊👍
