Thank you for your reaction. Dan is quite amazing to hear. As was said in previous comments, adeste fideles is powerful and fun. Also, his Nessum Dorma is just incredible to hear. He does a few songs from Phantom of the Opera, Music of the Night is one of my favorites. His acting ability in those songs is spectacular to see. As for a crazy sustained note, a heavy metal song, Black Wind fire and steel, I think he does a sustained scream for about 33 seconds. His vocal abilities shine in Mulan's I'll Make a Man Out of You. You get about everything in that one. Dan is classically trained and was a voice teacher.

Thank you for your insightful analysis of Dans singing. I love learning more about his techniques in producing his beautiful tones from your reactions and appreciate his uniqeuness as an artist. He spent time in the Brazilian army and is certainly trained in singing styles, theatre and production. He is a perfectionist.Listen to Nessun Dorma for his operatic style ...it's inspiring....but he is soooo versatile.

And to answer your question about the military background: yes, he was in the brazilian army, but I don't know for how long exactly. Dan also does his workout every day, so his upright body posture comes naturally by now. About the choir: if I remember correctly it's 60 tracks of him 😅

Great and respectful critique of Dan's vocal skills. The other comments answered some of your questions. He certainly brings the excitement to a performance doesn't he? ❤

Military, music, voice. He taught voice for a living at one time. It shows. All of it shows. As well as so many hours of dedication to craft. If you want to see lung capacity, watch Black Smoke, Fire and Steel. The last note is held, at my last attempt to count, 30+ seconds. It's insane. Please, even if you don't review it, watch that late note. Number of the Beast is second only to Black Smoke. His cover of that iconic Iron Maid descending scream will leaved you breathless. But it didn't leave HIM breathless. He is a wonder to behold.

To answer your question - yes, he does have military background, but also he has classical singingtraining. The choir is laid up of 60+ tracks.

Dan spent 2 year in the Brazilian Army. Also has vocal training. Can't get enough of him! You need to watch his video of Hallelujah .

60 choir overlays. 😀1 year mandatory in the army, I believe. I always get a lot of satisfaction from listening to the glorias, because of the training I had so many years back, in which it was a HUGE rule, that one was NOT allowed to pause for or take a noticeable breath anywhere in the middle of any of the phrases...no matter what. I was really happy when you caught the fact that Dan goes even beyond THAT, as more than once he goes right into a "glorious" gloria, without any hint of a noticeable intake of breath. I love watching him occasionally GET a bit of a breath, but most people will never see it, because once in a while he will carry through a phrase with a little sneaky catch of air that most people never notice. Plus it's quite obvious that he knows exactly what to do with his vocal cords, so that most of the time, you'll never see him take a breath at all...unless he's going for an effect. A more metal version of a Christmas Hymn is Adeste Fidelis. A look into his power metal covers might be in order, just so you get a feel for how neoclassical that style really is. Start with Dawn of Victory, a duet with the original singer, Fabio Lione, originally singer of Rhapsody, now with Brazil's own Angra. A little curiosity: Dan's favorite singer, Eric Adams of Manowar, once recorded the song Father in 13 different languages.

loved your reaction and insights, Adeste Fideles is another impressive Christmas Hymn by Dan.. would love your insight into that one too... I can now only hear Dan's version of both... so won't be singing in the congregation this year, just in case Dan's version breaks through😂 and yes Dan was in the military in Brazil and has an intense workout programme and controlled diet, all round great specimen of a 34 yr old male.

Rewatching your Dan reaction again and wondering if you have seen his new Christmas song dropped on 12/22/23? You MuSt react to it!!! Even now after Christmas!! I believe Dan does have vocal training. Check him out singing Nessun Dorma by Puccini. He does not turn it into metal at all. One of my favorite performances of Dans.

I agree! I was thinking that just a few days ago! Another one I heard through a reaction yesterday (I don't watch AGT, usually), is Putri Ariani. She's very young, still, but not a whole lot younger than Lucy, AND she has a very flexible, voice and can do both growls and screams! I was quite impressed!

Yes, Lucy tends to not want to do a lot of growls and 'screams' but you can get a hint of what she can do on 'I don't want to miss a thing'. I was imagining a musicals style duet (Broadway/Disney), but sure, he and Putri could do some excellent Whitney/Mariah type vocal gymnastics together. It's all good 🙂

Dan actually does a One Man Choir of the Hallelujah Chorus, too. It's fantastic with Soprano, Alto, Tenor, & Bass sections in the frame. Another Christmas song he does with his powerful vocals is Adeste Fidelis (O Come All Ye Faithful in Latin). Both are awesome. Then there's his Nessum Dorma. OMG how truly phenomenal that one is! He also did Andrea Bocelli's "Time to Say Goodbye" duet which is impressive, as well. Just a few of Dan's many wonderful works which would take too long & too much space to list. He's quite mesmerizing. Lol.

That would actually be a tremendous one for her to react to. The lyrics in that version are quite different from our own English version. They are much stronger. Tommy sings it in Swedish, but the lyrics are easy to find. I was in awe of that version of the song, and of course, Tommy does a tremendous job with it.
