There’s too much to comment upon, but the breadth of sources, the approach to the storytelling, weaving of culture with history, and the voice. Rock on Dan Carlin. Six hours is nothing to apologize for.

Bless you Dan Carlin for countless hours of enjoyment you've provided us over the years. I seriously cannot get enough, you've provided something that is actually needed yet scarce.

I was having a bad day, but now things are fine. Thank you, sir. As someone who majored in History but never found it in himself to follow through with Academy life, I have to say that your self description of "a fan of history" is pretty much how I see myself too.

Dan Carlin is a real inspiration he’s the best teacher !

Love Dan Carlin and his Hardcore Histories, but I long for more of his Common Sense episodes. Miss his perspectives and unbiased view- relating history to contemporary issues. It’s something I wish he’d post regularly 🙏🏼

Thank you so much for the hours of entertainment you have brought to me. Your shows got me into History and now it is my favourite pass time.

Another epic installment in Dan Carlin ethos. As a Russian, thanks for dedicating a large chunk to our history, didn't think that I would hear the name Perun uttered from Dan's mouth. I remember when I was in third grade, our teacher told us about how Igor was bound to two bended down birch trees and then basically teared in half, I was thinking to myself: "I'm too young to listen to this!" 😂 Epic stuff.

Only Dan Carlin would say Odin had a couple of Ravens he used recon purposes. A true thanksgiving gift getting 6+ hrs of Hardcore History

I genuinely enjoy every minute of every breakdown form you Mr. Dan Carlin. Another classic and know wonder you have a long time between podcasts. 6hrs of content is an incredible feat and a ton of research

Incredible. I'm always in awe of the way you can explore the breadth of history whilst maintaining a core narrative.

So thankful for this podcast. It reminded me to rediscover Bathory's Norland 1 & 2 albums. Quorthon was the father of Viking metal, RIP.

Man! I am savoring this. Just got thru the bit on rogue waves. I love how Dan Carlin leaves in his tangents and hiw he ropes them back in right at the point where your brain asks, "wait, what were we talking about."

I freak the hell out thinking "there is a part 2?" And I love it, please make more of this Mr. Carlin!

Love Dan's work. You should consider doing one episode about the clash of two worlds that was the spanish conquest in America. Imagine the mystery of the emperor of the most dominant culture in America meeting with the Spanish conquistador Cortez each representing the worlds biggest mystery to each other at the time. Definitely something that should be shared with humanity. You can lookup the work of historian Dr. Miguel Zunzunegui he is amazing on this topic

pretty sure thats coming. Im half turkish half german and I went from Germany to live in Mexico for like 6 months and I loved it. Been to the Templo Mayor, Teotihuacan etc , it was like a dream come true

I'm greatful, I was born in February 1995 and I'm alive today to listen to Hardcore history.

I gotta say, no single bit of content comes out that I look forward to an episode of HH. I've listened to every episode more than a few times, nothing comes close to the feeling I get from this show. Thank you Dan!

I agree, also dan covering the "golden age" of piracy and all of the great stories that could be told with a dan carlin in depth analysis would be awesome too. I know we have epic history, kings and generals for napoleon and the pirate history podcast for the high seas but nothing brings history and storytelling together this well besides dan. A close second is fall of civilizations but yeah. Anyone else who loves history the KZread channels I mentioned in this are epic and could hold you over until the next episode of hardcore history! Hopefully a napoleonic series!

Six hours of total wonder! reminded me of being at school when a teacher we had at the time told of old geek storys......( like Herculise as a child had vipers put into his cot but he just crushed them witth his grip, he was only playing with them etc) .............. thank you again Dan, your posts are a total release from the bondage of everyday life yet being very VERY imformitive. Wonderful stuff indeed !
