    It is true that there is no point trying to persuade someone who is in the grip of a corrosive worldview. They will take you down with them, if only because the energy you put into the fight will deplete you. The hurdle I have found in my personal experience is that it is hard to understand and predict someone's thought process if it is not in your nature to conceive of their beliefs or think the way they do in the first place.

    Agree. It's really hard to understand, I think this is why Dan spent so much time listening to what people in those communities were saying, by listening it tends to help us understand the other side and better predict reactions (regardless of whether you agree with it or not :) ).

    I love what Dan says about the difficult life misbelievers live; the stress of seeing evil in everything. My father was a 'misbeliever' and I truly think it shortened his life. He was a fearful, terrified man. As you say, it was incredibly damaging to his health. Ironically, he would see this video as a product of some kind of subversive New World Order. 🤷‍♀
