am I the only one amazed by the camera-work in this video? Uncut, flows from angle to angle perfectly with the song: single performer, single instrument, single camera, one take... just raw music at its finest

+Mark Ryan I respect your opinion, but i think that title belong to Ben Howard, by FAR! watch?v=T4yh2NZ0kJw Same setting for a good comparison. Let me know what you think ;)

+Kearress not in the same league as Mr rice I'm afraid. Damien mixes extremely clever lyrics without being vague, and matches them with beautiful melodies, and I have yet to hear him release a bad song, hence why his offerings only come every few years, he just refuses to release sub par work. the same cannot be said of Ben Howard I'm afraid

+Mark Ryan For me, i like the vague lyrics Ben Howard writes much better because they can give different meanings to different people, so anyone can find a piece of himself in them. I am not a fan of straight forward writing where the meaning is fixed, even though the lyrics are clever. Musically i like the darker, more experimental sound of Ben Howard more as well. So yeah, all a matter of opinion. Now let's hope nobody comes here and say Taylor Swift is the best writer on the planet ;)

My favorite song on the album so far..You can tell he means every single word he sings. This one's for Lisa, without a doubt.

I agree with you. Every single word in this song is for Lisa. Since they haven't talked ever since the incident, I think only songs and records and help him to 'talk' to Lisa. :)

Love damien rice for so long now, his music just.... i dont know, puts me in a special place in my head i guess, its hard to explain, but that voice, it give me chills, and his song writing makes me think and reminisce of days of old! I have only seen him perform once but that night in london will be a night i will never forget, and it cemented my love for him, just one guy and his guitar singing to a room full of fans, so intimate, so magical. I hope he does another tour soon, or at least releases a new album, My Faded Fantasy was such a great album, but it surely cannot end there!

Damien sings "I never meant to let you down" and I've rarely heard truth being sang so, honestly, the music business puts an unbelievable strain on people's private lives, this song sounds like a beautifully sad apology. Great song!!!!!

I'm maybe selfish, but in this way both of them(Lisa and Damien) are creating brilliant music, 'coz of pain they cosing to each other, and i 'hope' they stay separate for little more, and eventually in the end come together. Just saying... Damien is one hell of a Artist!!!

Alana Black I think it was in 2007 or 2008. After one gig Damien told her she has to quit. Nobody really knows the reason but I think he loved her but she rejected him. As I heard somewhere, Damien had a lot of women (for fun) but in fact he's afraid of true love.

Alana Black They were a couple as well as collaborators but the commercial success he got with '9' (his second album), kind of went to his head. He said it himself in recent interviews that he had turned into a bit of an asshole and a bastard and subsequently kicked Lisa out of the band and his life...to this day she won't forgive him or work with him and he hasn't really gotten over the loss of the 'love of his life'. It's really sad, they were perfect together.
