I can’t imagine, no time to properly process what she/they just saw in real time. All while having to fill in time with words, which not everyone can properly formulate in that situation. She’s in shock and just trying to keep their show going she’s trying to sooth the viewers as well as her fellow cohost. Sometimes changing the topic to an “insensitive” subject can get people moving and talking which in the end helps. Staying shocked, stuck and still doesn’t help things.

9 straight minutes of cpr is terrifying. god bless hamlin and all the medical professionals who helped him through it.
The silence that night was so eery. Never thought tens of thousands of people could be quiet in a stadium.
I remember waiting all day for this game and watching this happen. It shook me to my core, after 3-4 commercial breaks I turned to my mom and said “ mom I think he died” because 9 times out of 10 they would just remove them from the field but the fact that they stayed in that spot for that long kinda just let everyone know that this was a different type of injury. I have a good friend who's an athletic trainer. He told me that when you see an athlete collapse the way Hamlin did, you immediately assume cardiac arrest. That's why they started it so fast.
I am just noticing that right after he goes down, #64 on the Bengals goes to his knee and says a prayer. Like within the first 5 seconds of him going down. I’m not religious but it is a tremendous mark of character on that guy to immediately pray for anyone who goes down.

I remember hearing a lot of news coverage about this, two days into the new year. Really glad Damar Hamlin is okay. Really scary, broke me to see his follow teammates tear up and worried for him.
This is a perfect reminder of how fragile life is-and that you’re never too young to have a backup plan. Everyone, and I mean EVERYONE, should have a POA appointed and a will (at the very least). When my mom was having back to back strokes and in the hospital for 8 months, they were ripping life saving money out of her bank because I didn’t have POA to cancel even the most mundane automated payments such as her Spectrum bill. I almost lost her house cuz i couldn’t pay the mortgage cuz I didn’t have POA. My mom was a vegetable for 4 months before she looked at me for the first time. You’d THINK there’d be emergency exceptions for stuff like this, but I promise you, there isn’t. No matter how young or healthy you are, AT LEAST get your POA appointed. Someone you trust with both your medical decisions AND your material assets (or two different people for each type of POA-medical & durable). Both mine and my moms lives are completely upside still to this day. Now 5 years later, we are poor and homebound since I can’t leave her side to even go grocery shopping unless I pay someone to watch her. She can only move her head and left arm, she can’t speak, can’t brush her own teeth or control her bathroom habits… our fun and carefree lives ended April 26, 2018. EVERYTHING can change in an instant. Prepare for the worst and hope for the best is my life’s motto now.

bro even knowing he's okay now this still gets me... I remember my teammate in high school broke his leg and I can still remember him yelling, I can't imagine watching a teammate going thru cardiac arrest. Thank god for the Bills training staff.
I once saw a man (30) die on an amateur soccer field from heart complications. It changed my life and the way I see sports forever. I didn't know the man, but I was crying after 5 mins of CPR and noticed his skin color change.
This turned from one of the worst tragedies in sports to a great story with damar recently being cleared to play again
I watched this on live & I felt so sorry for his family that had to see that. It was really gruesome to watch. All it could’ve took was 1 missed second, he could’ve died. Everything was perfect timing with the buffalo medical response team. Damar got up after that tackle & just in 2 seconds he collapsed and literally died. That medical staff don’t get enough credit for running on the field saving his life making sure his heart gets enough blood function to survive the ride from the game to the hospital trauma center. Shoutout to bengals fans for supporting this man and cooperating that day. Definition of class, respect and support. Coming from a giants fan 💯.
I can't imagine what the players on both sides feel like this makes me ball every time I watch i imagine the look that whole team has its scary my moms uncle has gone into cardiac arrest 2 times in 4 days and is barely talking I don't even know him I went through 20 days of my grandpa dying it was so sudden my grandma died 2 years ago and my grandpa 1 year ago it's been even more hard as we just moved into there old house it a emotional roller coaster plus my cousin I hadn't seen sense my birthday came and saw us 1 week ago he was very close with my grandpa

After coming back to this horrible tragedy, this will remain as NFL history. One of the most scariest, heart dropping moments ever caught in football ❤
Seeing Diggs in tears is burned into my mind. I did not go to sleep that night, was so worried sick about him, thank god the medical staffs got to him so quick and were able to save his life!

Diggs and Hamlin are my favorite players on the bills, so diggs crying didn’t help how scary this already was.
And he says he’s ready to come back and play. I’ve gotta ask the question, at the risk of getting banned: v@x related?

No. Commotio cordis. It's something where a jarring impact at a specific time in the heartbeat cycle sends the heart into an arrhythmia. It's more common in stuff like baseball and cricket. No vaccine relation, just a very unfortunate situation that I'm glad he's doing better from.
hopefully hes ok!
My opinion is I love how all his teammates were like huddling him and making sure he was okay but the other team was just chilling ( until the end though )

Why cause he died?
What pissed me off about this game was just a couple month prior, I witnessed in person this same thing. Luckily it wasn’t as serious but they had to perform CPR on a middle school player on the opening kickoff
he even throws up 666 and triangle signs when hes in that glass room if you watch video when hes back

Even tho I’m really late with this, mad respect for both these teams, medical staff and the hospital in Cincinnati. 🥺
Sounds like he suffered the effects of something "SAFE AND EFFECTIVE". Brought to you by the people who "ARE THE SCIENCE."

That first guy knew. I got a feeling one of the first medical responders was a combat medic. He immediately recognized there was no heartbeat. Most injuries are concussions, but within 5 seconds he saw it cardiovascular and saved his life.
