That was jaw-dropping! I never thought I'd hear this étude played so cleanly in under a minute. Thank you for taking the time to learn and record these. To other auditioners, it is worth mentioning - and he did touch on this, with tonguing and stressed beats - that as per TMEA instructions, “The 6/8 time signature precludes the use of triple tongue.” They’ve essentially banned it outright.

I have to say one thing. I’m a high school trombonist and this was my region band tryout piece my freshman year. It was a very rude awakening.

Its just superb to know you are the University of North Texas here in the States. You bring a lot of expertise to the music program there. My Dance band instructor was on the North Texas faculty back in the 70's. I have enjoyed everything North Texas has made available on iTunes and on You tube. I would like to see and hear more from you. Having been a Bass Trombone and Euphonium player inn my teens I wonder why you don't use circular breathing when performing a piece such as this? I enjoyed the playing immensely but pausing for breaths just compromised the flow of the piece it seemed to me. Great work and good luck and best wishes.

@@joblack1838 So you can't take constructive criticism . Thats a shame. No matter what profession you choose if you didn't receive positive re-enforcement you would never improve rapidly otherwise. Its obvious you have never been dressed down feeling naked for not improving with your struggles in life when you know you can. Or if you think you can't maybe a swift kick in the pants might motivate you enough to realize you can do it. The idea that strict discipline and forceful motivation in todays society is not a positive thing is why we are becoming fat, lazy, and not well educated. How are we to progress if we sit on our butts and not try to improve ourselves and others?
