Matt Kenseth was a guy I never appreciated while he was racing. Now that he's retired, I truly miss seeing him compete. He wasn't flashy, but he always found himself in the top ten almost every week. The dude knew how to get the best result for the races he couldn't win. An underrated ability for sure. Plus, he's extremely funny. Miss his personality in the sport

That last part has some stuff that bothers me to no end. Yes, Matt is 100% a funny guy. Borderline hilarious. Yet the industry keeps trying to convince us/me that Clint Bowyer is even moderately funny. I think Matt actually being funny makes the typical loud obnoxious guy act (or I hope it's an act and he is not that irritating irl) that much more irritating.

I love the back and forth between Dale Jr and Matt. You can tell they are truly friends no matter what their differences throughout their lives and careers to this point in life. Much respect to all of the drivers from what to me was the Golden Age of NASCAR (late 1990’s - mid-2010’s).

I remember hearing that, for several years, if you wanted to get in touch with Matt, you would have to call Junior's house. They would be hanging out together in the basement bar. One Busch race I vividly remember for things that happened to each f these guys was fall Dover, 1999: Matt broke something in the front suspension, sending his black #17 Sirius Satellite Radio Chevy hard into the turn 1 wall. I was sitting about 20 rows up with my 70 year old mom and 13 year old daughter, both at their first race. Matt's car slid to a stop in the small infield area between 1 and 2, on fire due to the fuel pump breaking in the wreck (remember when that used to be a common occurrence?). Both ladies with me were terrified for Matt, but he was out of the car before the fire crew got there, and the car wasn't too badly damaged. Meanwhile, during a run of green flag pit stops, Dale came off turn 4 way too hot, missed the pit entrance, and spun the car a full 360. He got it going again from a full stop, went around one more lap, and pitted as usual. Then went on to win the race. The "Spin 'n' Win" isn't just an Indy 500 exclusive!

Love this episode! I moved to Wisconsin from Ohio the year Jr. and Matt were running for the Bush series championship. I was tending bar at Potts Inn Supperclub in Cross Plains and one of the dishwashers dad was 1st cousins with Matt. I gave him a Jr. Matchbox car and as a joke and he loved it. Then later during fish fry he introduced me to his father and told him to give me what he had been told to bring. It was a Kenseth autographed car. My son Cory has it to this day!

Will never forget his racing it was so good and two of his cars are in my top 10 of favorite cars of all time. One being his 2003 championship car and the other his 2000 rookie car. The good old Dewalt scheme with those yellow wheels was the best! Always love when NASCAR’s do something with the wheels as well with paint cause is not really done a lot over just normal black steelies.

I remember once when I went to look for a job at State Fair Park where the Milwaukee Mile is and I heard this one car out on the speedway practicing It was the number eight Budweiser. I thought to myself was probably someone else just testing this car definitely couldn't be him, then that night on the news I see reporter interviewing him at the track. I got to watch Junior pull practice laps for free that day as the only one at the track basically These two drivers in my head ofc with Jimmie, WERE Nascar after 3 left
