weirdly enough the best quote describing punctuated equilibrium theory can probably be ascribed to Lenin, "There are decades where nothing happens; and there are weeks where decades happen" seems a good gist of it type quote

Hope the opposition parties learn to work in cooperation and citizens learn more about politics to make better choices. And civil society organizations continue to educate citizens on that.

I am a great admirer of Frans and have high hopes for John. You painted a very positive picture for the future that sooths my own personal dreams. However the scenario is based on a lot of iffs. What would the scenario be IF the ANC does not curl into a ball and die. They Will fight and they will have the financial backing due to the past. How would you advise the splinter parties and voters to 'arm' themselves in the coming 350 days? I am sure we can't just be complacent and be idle in the dream that what you just now said would pan out! To win this should be a concerted effort across many ideologies and I (We) rely on you guys for guidance. Congratulations with the suberb job.

Good grief. The stuff Frans Cronje says about breaking up the oposition, I've been saying for years, even dacades. Its been an up hill battle against the DA propaganda machine, but it was inevitable. Finally the day has come, so glad to finally see this becomming mainstream, because this was always how the proportional system was designed to function.

34:42 I agree that a lot will ride on the opposition/s. If they can get along and make a difference in ordinary lives then they will be in power in 2024. If not we probably see ANC ruling to 2029.

The problem with SA politics is that it is heavily leftist oriented with a small faction of racially separated ethno-nationalists. The need is for the emergence of conservative leaning centrist party that attracts all South Africans irrespective of individual subgroup preferences.

PA is a trojan horse, they have disenfranchised their voters allready by going in coalition with the cANCer. I think the critical point is...can the voter get a grasp on how coalitions work. We need a coalition politics school.

The one thing we know for sure is that opposition in SA is incapable of taking advantage of anything. I am not holding my breath
