I agree that once we are saved we are always saved, but we also have to play our part to deserve the status of being saved. We have to earn it by doing good in return, if there is a right and previlage there is also responsibility and duty.

Today, !0, August 2023 - The Island of Maui is burning. The 60 mph winds from hurricane Dora to the South spread the fire on the 8th. My Dad served at Lahaina during WW2. A merciful Savior allowed me to visit this place several times; it was a paradise beyond imagination. My heart is breaking for the loss, the people living there, and for the reality that this fallen world is facing in the coming Judgement. I am praying for this island as I never have before, and for this world and the people living here now. In my close family there are unbelievers; I pray daily for them, understanding what they will be soon facing. May the real Mercy of GOD be experienced everywhere. Thank all of you for the creation of this Web Site, Branching Together.

Now that I have read chapter 4. I think that answers the question. I am learning to read the bible in totality and not just verses.

Darren, will you give your opinion on verse 6? Also, what do you mean about asking the wrong question? I really would appreciate if you answer these questions. I enjoy and appreciate you and Jared doing these bible readings.

Great job, Darren. I'm certainly enjoying Hebrews a bit more this time around. Thanks for the commentary on verse 6. It was refreshing to hear someone say, "I have an opinion, but it's just that." There are certainly truths all over the Bible, but then there are points in the Bible where people want to strip it down for answers to questions those points were never meant to answer. Chris

1 Corinthians 8:6 yet for us there is one God, the Father, from whom are all things and for whom we exist, and one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom are all things and through whom we exist. **It seems to me the Father is the source of everything**

What if somebody uses the "once saved always saved" saying as a cop out.. maybe we do have it all wrong and yes I believe there's many things we don't understand in the bible.. but to me using this as a way to do whatever you'd like and not even serve God I just can't see it being ok.. just my opinion and i get that we all have our opinions..maybe I'm hearing it wrong but I do have a few friends who truly believe they already accepted christ and no longer need to worry about serving him because they know he exist and no matter what they do there's no way God would let his child go to hell..regardless I appreciate the time you've taken to read and even explain..thanks

I share your opinion on this matter. I like what Darren said: our Christian life should be consistent with our calling. I love this clip where Greg Laurie explains the topic a bit more. kzread.info/dash/bejne/iGeZzrB-Z9DAiLw.html

That 1 guy 219. I believe if someone had a true conversion, they would not ever want to hurt God, they would want to turn away from the old life. Now, will we make mistakes we sure will, God is faithful and will forgive us when we repent. We will NEVER be perfected until Jesus comes for us.
