The other child in the video he mentions as “Laney” is actually Kim”s sisters daughter who ‘Em adopted due to her drug issues and unfortunately later subsequent death, the baby here is his biological daughter Hailee who gets mentioned a lot in his songs. Years later (not in this video) Kim had a baby with another man then Kim and Em got back together and he adopted her too. Sadly her biological father passed away. Em has been a constant in these 3 girls life and I believe he refers to all 3 as his daughters.

Mockingbird is such a classic… a song that gets even more popular as the years go on… as someone who grew up in a broken home it really hits deep for me the entire story of the song + it’s a very well done instrumental fact he turned a lullaby into that aesthetic/sound is pretty amazing + like your dad said it’s a really nice chorus with those keys in the background deff one of my fave from Eminem 💯 some don’t realize how diverse he is in terms of range of songs from emotional, sad, angry, funny, hype, motivational etc…

Mockingbird was the song that made me fall in love with Eminem. When I was younger I didn't listen to Eminem, I just heard some songs every now and then Like D12's My Band/How Come. But I didn't specifically listen to him. I knew some of the songs, cause they played on the radio but I didn't seek him out. It wasn't until 19 years ago, when I was in Middle School that I heard Mockingbird for the first time and then that was it for me, I was hooked on Eminem and had a newfound appreciation for him. Love him to this day. Amazing Musician, Amazing Father.

"I think my dad's gone crazy" had Hailie in it
The other child in the video he mentions as “Laney” is actually Kim”s sisters daughter who ‘Em adopted due to her drug issues and unfortunately later subsequent death, the baby here is his biological daughter Hailee who gets mentioned a lot in his songs.

My dad went to prison for almost 10 years when I was 12. Before that it was just him and I. This is “our” song

I gotta say, I freaking love you guys, your relationship, your banter, and your reactions. Lastly, I love that you've both turned me on to some amazing music-- The Black Seminole and Pasttime Paradise. Side note: I noticed something kind of adorable. Kai always says Uh-huh with an upward inflection on the "huh," which I thought was unique. I finally caught his dad saying it on a video yesterday and understood where he got it. 😅 Love Eminem. Would love to see a twenty one pilots reaction if that's something Kai would be into. Keep it up! ❤

Love how Son and Dad interact. Cool Dad to be honest. This song has always resonated for obvious reasons.
I've heard this song like dozens of times and I cry every single time.
I used to listen to Eminem a lot as a kid because of my parents. This song always stuck with me, especially when my dad died. I would sit on my porch and listen to Mockingbird on full volume and just *listen.* Also, it’s so funny hearing him say ‘it’s the first time I’ve had an opening to a difficult family dynamic’ (or something like that idk) because this song resonates with me. I’ve heard it and experienced it. It’s definitely my favourite Eminem song.
So glad you did this reaction! I recommend listening to 'cleaning out my closet' or more recently, I think defo 'rap god'! I think your Dad will appreciate both for different reasons 😊
I absolutely love this song and the video!! My biological father left my mother when she was pregnant with me. Than my stepfather committed suicide when I was 18. All I have are home videos, so this song/video touches me deeply!! Yet again, another great job, guys!! Keep up the good work 👏

My wife and I would love to see Dad's reaction to "Highlights" by Eminem please!
When Dad said “it usually switches up and he gets furious but this might not be the case in this one, it’s so mello” *me knowing the mockingbirds neck getting snapped and the jeweller eating the karats at the end* 😅 I’m not certain he heard that last change up of the chorus through properly though.
Can’t wait for you to share more of the poetic Eminem. Cleaning out my close, followed by headlights. Both Rihanna collaborations. Not afraid, for sure so one of his most motivating and touching songs for me. Toy soldiers. Eminem was at his peak during my 20 s so I really grew with him and his music. And it’s been and still is a wonderful poetic journey of youth and growing as a person and owning up to your youthful mistakes.

from the age of 4 i’d say, before i could even speak fluently, i knew every word of this song thanks to my father. my dad, my parents split up before i was even born and my mom was really into substances, my dad took custody of us when i was five but even with the years leading up to that with shared custody my dad was both the mother and father, he did a hell of a job at playing both roles. forever thankful for him and this being our song.

I think headlights would be a great song to react to. Also another artist closely related to Em is Royce da 5’9. He has a song called cocaine which talks about his fathers addiction and how he got sober. Love the videos!
This song hits home for me because I remember we grew up with a single mom. No dad around I’m the oldest of 3 boys and so I grew up fast by 14 I was hustling to make $ while my mom was dealing with alcohol addiction, and a bunch of mental abuse from her family around her, and by 15 I was tryna bring my family closer by BBQing and spending family time to take away any of the pain. During that time I was the dad to my 2 brothers and I remember hearing this song during that time and it hurt
I see this page reactions just to see the dad. He looks like an innocent soul.. i feel calm and in peace just looking at him.
im very surprised he said at the end he found rock bottom more emotional, this song literally breaks me but i have a daughter and he has a son so maybe its the relatability factor im not sure.
