I can relate to Sabrina so much. My dad won't let me wear a crop top without something under it and I look at other girls who are thinner than me and I am just so much aware of what people think of me and I grew so insecure of my body and I would scroll through social media and see people who would look so much better than me and I would think to myself I wish I was them and would not focus on what was in front of me. But now I'm focusing on what's in front of me and feeling my best in whatever I'm wearing.

Every father feels like this. I did when my daughter went through this age. It's not that we (dads) are trying to be overbearing, or demanding or overly strick. When you younger guys get older, have kids especially a girl. She's forever your "little girl". It's deep within men twords their daughter. We just want to protect them from the bad in the world. It's very difficult to navigate. Is it overbearing and controlling? Yes, but in the father's heart, she will always be his little girl, his baby. I'm not trying to justify it, it's just the way it is. When / if you have a daughter you will understand, and more than likely do the exact same things.

personally, my mom is fine with me wearing crop tops My dad isn't 100% fine with it yet but he definitely tries to be okay with it then when I do wear crop tops I usually put smth under it in case I raise my hand or smth because I don't like too much of my stomach showing since I'm insecure about my weight and stuff

This was literally me, constantly getting shamed and put down because my parents wanted me to stay little. As I further, sometimes it got way worse and sometimes they let up. It got significantly better once I moved out. Like, don't shame me because I think differently than you or maybe breath differently come on now. That was a lot of stress anxiety and insecurity
