LYRICS:
I could take some sleep
I could go lie down
I’m in so deep
a little broken now
I would love to close my eyes
but I’ve got moves to make
there’s so much going on inside my head
the smallest things can make me cry
when I blink I see flashes of my bed
can’t wait to give it a try
and though I wouldn’t change this for the world
take me to higher ground take me higher
feel kind of like an oyster with no pearl
take me to higher ground
I could take some sleep
I could go lie down
week after week
it’s a constant sound
I would love to close my eyes
but I’ve got moves to make
I could take some sleep
I could go lie down
I’m in so deep
a little broken now
I would love to close my eyes
but I’ve got moves to make
I’ve got moves to make
there is so much to do
so many things too little time
trying not to miss out on anything
take me to higher ground take me higher
whatever it is I’ll take a swing
take me to higher ground
I could take some sleep
I could go lie down
week after week
it’s a constant sound
I would love to close my eyes
but I’ve got moves to make
I could take some sleep
I could go lie down
I’m in so deep
a little broken now
I would love to close my eyes
but I’ve got moves to make
I’ve got moves to make
I’ve got moves to make
I’ve got moves to make

This is really pertinent. After his massive viral success of Think About Things, I can completely understand where this song has come from. Dadi, your fans adore you- don’t worry, we’ll always support you, no matter if you need to take a break. I’ve seen the imposter syndrome in a few of your songs. You’re amazing. ❤

Dadi reminds me of Bo Burnham. Absolutely hilarious, amazing music, humble, and a rise to fame that has to be incredibly hard to handle reflected in their music. I hope he's doing well, and hope we continue getting new masterpieces to enjoy

And the fickleness of fame too: "woo, this is great!" "no, this is wrong, it's corrupting the youth and toxic" "it turns out it's criminal?" and following that trend down. Fame is BS and shouldn't be pursued (though if you get it, do the best with it hopefully), because people think they own you and know you. So anything you say or do is subjected to extra scrutiny and can make or break you.

What a great track, and the video is a perfect mirror for how the world (and the media) will reduce you down to a single characteristic, put you on a pedestal for it, then tear you down for the same thing, until you start to lose your love for the thing that brought you joy to begin with.. Well done, Daði, very well done. 🙌

In addition to the concept of an artist being distilled down to a single thing, this song, as I experience it, is also a commentary on the relentless expenditure of effort that is required to keep pace with and stay ahead of the all consuming and fickle mass of humanity and market, regardless of scale, while trying to maintain one's creative form and integrity alongside the want to simply sit back and take a moment for yourself. I love every single solitary bit of this song.
