    It's hard to say without seeing it. Sometimes you can put it under the fretboard, if it only that on the way. But I have customised them for specific guitars before. As it is rubber, you can carefully cut it to size. Obviously measure carefully first and do all of this at your own risk. If you want to sned me a picture, I could give more specific advice.

    Oh that's my trusty old Musima. It's was made in Germany, and its over 20 years old and a lot of playing on it. For most of the time I use D’Addario EJ17’s on that one. It really likes the warmness of the phosphor bronze strings. It also has Cedar top that resonates a lot.

    That will be no problem at all. I have done that in the past. Also my Martin has a Fishman system with the sound hole controls, and I just leave them on full and put it over them. But if you want to access the volume, just cut a small bit off from that side.

    Excellent video. I know you mentioned in your video that L.R. Baggs stuff is poorly priced for you in Ireland, but have you had any opportunity to test out the L.R. Baggs 'Session' DI or 'Align Series Session'? Price wise, it's a bit steep... sound wise, it's a bit subtle... but Wow - I think you might actually dig what it does - acts like a finishing touch on an already good sounding guitar/pickup. I'm not a rep for them or anything, just a sound engineer who's been tasked to find a good acoustic setup for a friend and I came across this Session product - it's a solid purchase but definitely not cheap. Figured you might get a kick out of it if you have a chance to try it. Cheers and happy gigging.

  • @JPKalliomusic

    @JPKalliomusic

    Thanks :-) Yeah, I have kept an eye on the Align series reverb and the session. It is kind of closest to reproducing what I usually do to the acoustic guitar in the studio. The only thing still holding back is the price ;-) But I’m sure I’ll get my hands on them soon enough.

    I've got a question, I use fishman pick up, there is such things as "notch" and "phase". In instructions written, that I must balance notch and play with phase button to engage the feedback. Shoud I anyway use this thing or its made for more cheaper pickups, which doesn't have this functionality or it's absolutely individual? Thank you, with great love from Russia!

  • @JPKalliomusic

    @JPKalliomusic

    4 жыл бұрын

    Hey, thank you for the question, it is a good one. The notch is like picking up a small frequency to pull out, so if you can find the frequency that is causing the feedback, you can eliminate it. The phase is to reverse the phase if the sound is coming from a two sources and they end up eliminating each other’s and make it sound thin. In an ideal world you would not need to touch either of these. And if you try using the Feedback buster, I think it will solve a lot of your feedback problems. Remember that any kind of equalisation distorts the original sound. And I would limit any use of Equalisation to minimum and only from one source. For example, if you are playing a show where there is a good sound engineer with a good quality desk, I am pretty sure the Eq in his desk is much higher quality than the one in any onboard guitar system or a pedal. Let him deal with a clean signal and he will make your sound good. But the feedback buster naturally eliminates feedback and allows you to have more volume in the monitors, if you so desire.

    You will never ever get the same dynamics with electric guitar. Acoustic guitar is a very unique instrument that relies on resonance of the wood and the strings. When you amplify it, it can cause small problems. But if you tame it, it is very rewarding instrument.

    @@JPKalliomusic I humbly disagree in this case. I actually found the info in the beginning very helpful. Exactly what I wanted to know and feel it should have been explained first as it is here. Normally I think get on with the demonstration, but in this case it really helps to understand. Actually, the very first thing he said about that its not designed to play acoustically but only to amplify was my main question because I actually want to use it amplified only in live situations but didn't understand what it was used for exactly and now I know it's exactly for that purpose which is what I needed to know. For me, perfect. Very clear and to the point. Thanks man. I appreciate this video ALOT 👊👍
