D'Addario EJ34 Folk Ball End Classical Guitar Strings Review - Taylor Academy 12e-N Nylon String

Музыка

Here's my personal review of the D'Addario EJ34 Folk Ball End Classical Guitar Strings on my Taylor Academy 12e-N Nylon String Guitar.
Order These Strings From Amazon: amzn.to/3PDTVGN
The D'Addario EJ34 Folk Ball End Classical Guitar Strings are well balanced with the bright and clear tones of the 80/20 bronze wound basses complimenting the warm and mellow sound of the black nylon trebles nicely.
The overall set tension of 84.90 lbs makes them easy to play and barre chords can be fretted with out much problems even with my arthritis.
The ball ends makes fitting them a breeze and will obviously appeal to anyone who struggles to tie those fiddly knots on the bridge.
I'm personally not a big fan of the gold and black look but if you like it then the D'Addario EJ34 Folk Ball End Classical Guitar Strings would be a good choice for most styles of playing and the ball ends mean they can also be fitted to a wide range of acoustic guitars if you're looking for a mellower sound than steel strings give you.
Overall a good set of reasonably priced ball end classical guitar strings

Hi Alfred, I would suggest you try the Martin Ball End Nylon Strings. I really like them on my Taylor I've done a review of them here: kzread.info/dash/bejne/mYyDmKmeoaTIoco.html

The Black Nylon Strings sound akin to Gut Strings of the old days so they sound really old school. Those Ball End strings make restringing a Snap & they should have them available for Classical Guitars of every type.

@@AlanRoyHocking Maybe the Black Nylon Strings are good strings after all, they're great for recreating that Dolores Nevares de Goni sound. She played a Martin Acoustic Guitar which was strung w/ Gut Strings (nowadays Nylon).

Yes they actually grow on you Oscar, I'm beginning to like them more the more I play them but they do have a different sound to the standard clear nylon strings.

Yeah, I just buy the tie ends and call it a day. Serves same purpose as ball end. Just for the strings that don't come with it

Hi Fraser, I'm afraid I don't have any experience with that but I would imagine the string tension would be to low and cause a lot of string buzz problems or you would need to have the action adjusted accordingly

Hi Blaue, the strings that I really like on my Taylor Academy 12e-N are the medium tension Knobloch Actives Double Silver CX Carbon strings. I did a review of them on the guitar here: kzread.info/dash/bejne/pJaDto-bZ8qnn6Q.html The D'Addario EJ46FF High Tension Carbon Strings that they fit in the factory are really nice as well. I reviewed them here: kzread.info/dash/bejne/in6Zy6yxhMW6j9Y.html

Yes, they come in one sealed moisture resistant plastic bag but each string is clearly marked with a tag so you know which string goes where 👍
