Cause she's retired comic book character, she's allowed to be happy and chonky. Tho, it's because the artist made her big as joke for not being acknowledged by SEGA for 7 years, so he made her fat, ended making it part of an alternate backstory where after the Archie comic was retired she and Sonic went their separate ways with her deciding to be more responsible with royal duties as a princess of the Knothole Kingdom. These factors caused her stress, so it made her stress eat to calm herself down, and the rest is history. Nothing with a unique take on a Sally Acorn.

Guess Sally became an egg sandwich with a bit of spice-

No problem. It was basically a jab at Sega for not acknowledging her and other Freedom Fighters, so she’s “retired.” It started as a joke, but I thought it was a fresh take on her that could be fun to explore.
