It is a great gun. The P-10 may have stole its’ thunder, but I prefer the P-09 (and P-07)

I just picked one up from a gun show with the CZ custom +3 baseplate. 23 rounds have never disappeared so fast. I am in love with this gun

My dad got one of these awhile back, I couldn't believe how accurate it was, such a sweet shooter!

This will be a nice addition to my growing CZ family.

Absolutely love my P09. Super accurate and reliable pistol, plus the high mag capacity makes it a lot of fun at the range.

Me too... It sure is an awesome weapon and when I went on to purchase it and my gun dealer handed me this piece I fell in love with it right then and there. Proud to have it.

@Buttbanging Trannyliberal not at all. They are the go-to competition pistol. Very reliable, smooth, soft shooting, accurate, and beautiful looking handgun. People complained about them being heavy but now with the polymer lowers, that isn't a problem. Id suggest getting a P07 or P10. Any CZ75 style handgun if you want an all metal gun.

Bought a P 09 and love it. Also bought a 75 Compact. I am in love with both

I got a cz p07 duty a little while ago only because i live in Comi Colorado so we are restricted to 15 rounds. Just found out my friend wanted to sell my his his p09 duty with 6 19 round magazines. Now I can finally have big magazines for my p07 as well. Take that society =P

CZ P09 Mags work and function in the S&W M&P 9 full-size, but not vice-versa. I now carry 19 round mags with my M&P from CZ. They function flawlessly....

Best thing I found about both my CZs they will eat any kind of ammo. From cast bullets to fmj to heavy hollow points. I've even had great success with 158gr swc cast bullets. Love my CZs.

What about aluminum or steel cased ammo, any problems there ?

Just bought one for $469 today (Oct 2014) in Phoenix. Might be the best full size 9mm for the money!

Nevermind scott6154 , I was able to find one used here in Phoenix for $410! It's worth every penny of that and a bunch more. I've put about 250 rounds through it so far. Nice, soft shooter and is very accurate. I've coupled it with a CZ-USA tactical light for use as a home-defense pistol.

I watched this video & NutNFancys video a million times waiting for my CZ P-09 To arrive. I love it. Awesome pistol.

Previously I made a comment that I was planning to buy the P 09. Well, I purchased one and it is very accurate, smooth shooting and the recoil is so manageable that it's easy to get the next shot back on target. The trigger reset is awesome. This was my second CZ, my third is the P10 F in .45 ACP.

Hello! What would you prefer for ipsc? P09 or p10f in 9 mm? How the triggers compare ? I would use the p09 with a decocker

@GrandRoyaLBassMan I'm giving a slight edge to the P09. The triggers for both are great. I have a tight shot group at 10 yrds with both. My P09 has the decocker also. I have the P10F in .45 cal also, and to me it shoots the best out of all the CZs that I have. If you can find one, get it.

watched many of your fantastic reviews and I just bought a CZ P 09 and loving it.

Best shooting gun I ever owned. Can only get 18 in mags. The rod is 2 piece, came unthreaded. Called CZ and they took care of it. Put loctie on new one. One gun I will never get rid of.

The 2016 Suppressor Ready P-09 now has a 21+1 capacity, in 9mm that is.

oh really? I need to get one then, I am very close to getting my 1st gun license in south africa, so I need to look hard at what I am getting because it takes 3 months till 1 year on average for a license to go through

I added a plus 2 base plate to my czp09 works flawlessly.

CZ is really stepping up their game. They have always been exceptional going back to the CZ 75 (thats as far as I can remember.) Good review Sootch00

P09 Duty, SP01 Tactical, and P10c are 3 of my favorite pistols I own. You did a good review on all of them.

Got one of these on the way-the suppressor ready version. Can't wait to get it! My first CZ handgun.

Bought mine without knowing to much about handguns I have liked it so far this video made me very glad for my purchase

This gun shoots better than all other guns that I have, even better than my P 226.

I have a P-07 9mm that has been flawless, and I'm sure the P-09 is just as awesome. I will definitely buy one.

I got one this past week, lucky to found one at a good deal. Shot 100 rds. with no problems. and quick too. With the magazine fully loaded doesn't feel heavy either. I like the de-cocker and the serrations easy to grab and slide.

Quite simply, the best duty pistol on the face of the earth. Very favorable price and well supported by Cajan Gun Works and CZ Custom. The .40 is a powerhouse and is a lifesaver when shit goes bad...

Meanwhile it's 6-2024 Love my P-09 Suppressor Ready, 2 - 21rd magazines, for the insane price under 500beans. So reasonably priced that I also bought a P10F Optic Ready & Suppressor Ready, also with 2 - 21 rd magazines, also under 500 clams. Thank you CZ 🇨🇿 👍🇺🇲

Wow, that's the first time I have ever wanted a 9mm.

Exactly what I'm looking for---high capacity, decocker for bedside. Add a light and I think it's a winner

Just bought a slightly used p-09 a few days ago. SA trigger is excellent. One thing I will say. This is a big damn gun lol. For sure not an edc gun. But great for my purpose of a glove box/home defense pistol. Love the 19+1 capacity.

I personally prefer da/sa in a gun. Especially one you're going to carry. Thanks for the review.

LOL, I didn't even pay attention to that in the video, but your right. Good catch. Even went back to the CZ 97 video and the same was done there no pre-cocking of the hammer to relieve hammer spring tension from the slide and retention pin during take down.

Just bought this fine firearm. I pick it up this week. I can't wait to fire it.

I just bought this pistol at my local gun shop. It's discontinued and the last one they had. $338. It has a lot to live up to, compared to my CZ 75.

I have over 1000 rods thru my P09,, super accurate 15 yards,,lots of people at the range look closely, then ask what kind of pistol it is,, they can’t guess,,lol! Never had one FTF,,, I put DPM recoil spring,3 stage,, I dare you to beat it, for the price ,, people are jealous 😃

I'm glad you plan to do a complete video on the safety/decocker exchange. When I did it on my P-07 I found there isn't much help on the internet. Overall, its not hard. Though like you said, the decocker is the tricky one!

I have the threaded barrel one. This is actually my first 9mm, and I love it! Thank you for the field strip and tips on the CZ. I have to say, it is a great gun and it has great accuracy as did my bf's Glock 19. My magazines only have 19+1, but I did see that CZ came out with the 21 mag version.

That's nice to know because I love the design look and the style of weapon double action I've bee shooting Jericho 941s and live them very accurate and never hiccup. These are on my radar I really like the phantom models.

Im a FFL dealer in wv , and i have a cz 75 that i have over 20k of 9mm light target loads thrue...the gun is getting old but still shoots just fine...good guns and good vid...thanks

Two best(Accuracy, Reliability, Ergonomics , Aesthetics ) fullsize hammer fired 9mms Sig p226 with 18 round mecgar mag and CZ-09 with 19 round mags. CZ is almost less $400 than Sig and has a polymer lower instead of aluminum alloy. They also now make night fision sights for the P09 so there's no reason not to go CZ anymore. I only wish they made the CZp09 in 10mm with 16 round mags.

The best duty pistol out there in mh opinion.

@Don Lackey There is no frame bulge at all on these P 09s I have over 3K on mine with ZERO bulging. They corrected that on the later/newer style P 07s as well. Even with an older P 07, the slight bulge never got worse or affected anything.

Glad there are at least 2 people who caught that..

The cure for the sharp slide release problem on CZ P-07 and CZ P-09 is to round all the edges of the front part of the slide release using a Dremel tool and then apply Birchwood Casey Presto Gun Super Black Touch - up Pen and you will find it much more comfortable with Thumbs forward grip.

CZ's are known for Accuracy+...Love this tool. You can also convert it to carry cocked and locked..Can't say enough good things about this pistol..If you don't have 1 Buy one...

I own the P 09 for 1 year. Excellent gun for the money. Friends with 2000€+ SIGs dont shoot better!!!

I love your reviews the way you show every aspect of these guns thus will probably be my next cz I'd like a 97bd but I'm just a huge fan of high capacity that having a 19+1 is too hard to say no too keep up the good work!

My glock 30S can use the 23 round stick mag, of 45 acp. Can't top that one..... Unbeatable big bore home defense firepower

19+1 ! Nice but it don't matter to me because up here in the great white north we are only aloud 10 rounds in our pistols . Good vid ,I like your channel .

I have a CZ 75 DUTY. But mine must be an earlier model than his. Mine does not have interchangeable back straps or serrations on the top of the slide near the front sight. It shoots like a dream and everybody that tried it, loves it. Occasionally I do get a failure to feed, but I'm putting that down to shooting reloads.

The Springfield XDM 9mm is also a 19+1 Polymer framed Pistol..

well thanks to ***** this pistol is on my short list. I do think it could use some talon grips though, doesn't look like there is a lot of checkering on the grips as stock. Its between this and the Springfield XDM 4.5 in 9mm as my first 9mm pistol.
