Glock was my first gun and it's a great gun,; for beginners:. Once i tore my bicep and couldn't handle the grip angle I changed to CZ. Wish I tore my bicep 20 years ago. Cz is a much better weapon.

I started with Glocks and am moving on to CZ's. I have two now. I think people who are really into guns seem to start with striker fired and move on to hammer fired. Maybe not everyone, but quite a few. I'm one.

The CZ cost less, is made better and is hammer fired. Glock is great for what it is and it may carry better. But the CZ trigger is 10000 times better than Glocks ! Also the CZ has night sights. The CZ is the better built gun.

The downside to CZ is that it will get hot far as the Trigger if you put lot's of rounds thru it.

Don't know how you dropped the night sights out of you CZ. Have thousand of rounds through my P09 and the night sight dots are still there. CZ is king. Shot a Glock once and vomited on it.

I have one that one of night sights disappeared. Took it out of the case and it was gone....lol Upgraded the sights after that. Don't rely on watching videos on how easy the old sights come off and new ones go on.......

CZ P09 has been my first handgun and I can't wait to get a 75 now. Thank you Czech Republic! Awesome firearms out of Kansas City.

thanks for the good review. I've had many Glocks over the years and still own a second generation Glock 17. I have also owned a CZ 75 for many years and just yesterday ordered a new CZ p09

They are both great shooters. I just happen to favor the CZ po9 9mm. Combination of features made me pick it. Double action feature is a bonus, The sights on my '16 are white, after sun exposure they glow.

They're both great guns. I own the smaller version if the p09 I have the p07 gen 2 with about 500 rounds zero failures and my buddy has a glock 19 with about 1000 rounds and zero failures. You can't go wrong with either purchase. It all comes down to personal preference you either like striker fire or hammer fire DA/SA. Me personally I like hammer fire guns so I went with the CZ. But if SHTF and all I had was a glock I would feel just as safe as I do with my CZ.

I'm considering a CZ P07, P09 or P10. This video is very helpful (as virtually all of your vids are). The only CZ pistol platform I've ever had was a Springfield P9c, all steel and ridiculously heavy for a compact carry gun. However, it was the single most accurate centerfire handgun I've ever owned. I had to file down the front sight (integral with the slide) and it was so hard it wore out my brand name file in the area used. I wish I had kept it for a truck / house gun. Thanks for the excellent info, evaluation and shooting footage you do.

Very grateful for your channel. Recently started watching you. Been looking at a lot of different pistols. I somehow missed the PO9. This helped alot. So many great options out there.

My first pistol was a glock. I like them a lot. But I prefer others. P09 is one of my favs in my lineup. Tough to beat for the price and quality.

I have 4 glocks and I like them very much but the CZ-P-09 is very nice it is going to be my home defense gun.

Bought the P09 shortly after watching this...dead even tie for me in the vs category. I shoot the CZ more when I’m at the range though, so I guess CZ gets the edge in fun to shoot. Never thought I’d look beyond glock for a full size duty, sooo glad I did.

I bought a CZ P09, came with two mags and has 3 green hi viz sights. Love it. It's in 40 s&w. Oh also came with a thumb safety if you want to remove the decocker which I deed swap.

I am only a CO2 replica airgunner (due to strict and tricky firearm laws in Finland) - but I just had to watch this one through. The CZ P-09 CO2 pellet pistol is one of my all-time favorites. And if I ever decided to actually pursue to get me a permit and an own firearm - the P-09 would be my choice. Low slide and lever handling goes well for me since the size and functions (except the magazine) are the same. The fit and feel is just awesome for me. Love the grip texturing. Would be ready to fire one any given day - but never gotten a chance to try out one because I do not know any owners of a P-09 firearm in my area.. I have shot approx 100 rounds with a Glock in practical shooting style with a buddy that trains people to shoot. Was nice and good, but something tells me that the CZ would be more my thing..

Both of these are great guns. They’re different categories tho. Some people want the simplicity of a striker fired gun, some like the DA/SA. The P-09 gives you the option of a decocker or manual safety. If you love the 1911 and you’re interested in trying a 9mm polymer framed gun, the CZ P-09(and P-07) are an excellent option. The grip angle is the same and as someone who loves the feel of the 1911 w/arched mainspring housing, the P-09 is very natural and allows a nice tight high grip. 19+1 capacity plus the full rail and wide trigger guard make it a great all purpose gun. The threaded barrel model gives you the option of a suppressor. So for the 1911 loving Fudds out there(me) the P-09 is a great option

How’s the P-07 now? Are you still carrying it? Any thoughts of your experience with it in the last three years? Just asking cuz it’s on a very short list of options I’m considering.

i had to make this exact same decision and i chose the CZ. that was in Feb of 2016...still no regrets. i have nothing bad to say about Glock, though. both are great pistols. great comparison, thanks!

Have a p-07 and it is my favorite carry gun. Have thought about getting its big brother the p-09, now I might. Reliable, accurate, almost as light as the glock, great for someone who prefers a hammer on their pistol.

I just bought a NIB p09 for $385 out the door...and as an HK fan boy, I'm uber impressed with the pistol out of the box. Older CZ's had some machining marks inside, but this example is complete devoid of that. The first dry fire DA was good. No stock DA is great, but this isn't bad. It DOES stack a bit, it's not gritty...and I had not cleaned it yet. The SA has a bit of take up, but breaks cleaning and weight is acceptable. Again...this is out of the box first dry fire impression. I'm big on trigger feel and I love the HK light LEM. Cajun gun works kits will get the DA down to SIMILAR as the light LEM...and the SA to a hair under 4lbs. I think I'm in love.

CZ needs to make an Optics Ready version of the P09 and P07 by pushing the rear sight slide groove back to it's furthest point otherwise idk if you can fit an RMR in there without trashing the rear site and that just commits the pistol to a red dot forever which suck imho

Nice review comparing both guns. I have both an Accu Shadow and P-09 as well. I prefer the recoil impulse of my P-09 over the Shadow w/ the same reloaded ammo. I think the P-09 has very low recoil, not just for a polymer gun, but steel frame included.

I like the grips on your CZ75. I do woodwork, and I was thinking about making my own grips to replace the stock plastic ones on mine. Seeing yours gives me a few ideas though instead of doing the standard checkering on the grip.

I carry a CZ P07 Duty and love it. Accurate as hell and holds 16+1. Mine came with tritium night sights.

I had a the same problem with my P07 sights. First i fixed them: put some high viz acrylic paint in there. that worked well, but then i replaced them with some Dawson sights from Cajun Gunworks. I highly suggest the Dawsons. they're awesome.

I was looking at (another) Glock 34 when I found the P09. The ability to set the controls like a 1911 sealed the deal, I now have two P09’s and no clocks…

My biggest gripe with striker fire is the lack of double strike capability and how many failures I have seen when water gets in them.

I just bought a Vickers tatical Glock 17 and I luv it shoots great I also have a CZ PO7 I like it too but the Glock just kicks ass specially with the fifty round drum in it alot damn fun

Ive owned both smaller counterparts, the glock 19 and the p-07. I love them both. But for concealment the glock just has a cleaner design especially without the beavertail on the p-07 which stabbed my muffin-top with appendix carry. The p-07 feels amazing in hand compared to the glocks 2X4 grip. Both shoot better than myself. I give the edge over to glock for the abundance of aftermarket parts that are affordable, and the simplicity to work on. Working on a glock is ridiculously easy. The simpler it is, the less can go wrong.

Yeah I had a PX4 Storm Compact and my G19 just feels like a cheat code when I carry. It blows my mind when I forget I'm carrying it. Raven Vanguard 2 holster.

Been a glock shooter for years. No longer. Just purchased the CZ P09 urban grey model and instantly fell in love. It will be replacing my G19 as my competition pistol. The night sights are a nice touch. The grip angle difference will be an adjustment but one I'm very willing to make. I would highly recommend a CZ to either new or experienced shooters.

Josh Anderson so if you had a Glock 17 gen 3 would you trade for a p09? I love the Glock but not a fanboy by any means. Nothing wrong with my Glock at all just like the look of the p09 better and seems to be a very reliable gun!

Richie Herrera Yes I would switch from a 17 gen 3 to the P-09 or if you are looking to upgrade the G19 gen5x would be a nice choice it is a 19 slide on a 17 frame check it out.

just picked up the CZ09 and i wanted both!!!

First time buying a pistol and for some reason this one felt right in the hand and loved the sights for it. Po9 is def awesome pistol

I realize this is 3 years late , but since this video was uploaded, CZ makes an OD version that ships with tritium sights. Just the black ones have the white sights shown here. Hope this helps

You like the CZ more but would keep the Glock. Interesting.

CZ P-09 is one if not the best polymer framed 9mm available at any price in my opinion. Although, hear that some are coming with plastic guild rods now which is unfortunate. Had mine almost year and half now and it's been outstandingly reliable... No issues. I own Glocks, HKs, FN, S&W polymer pistols and the CZ is as good or better than any of them. While double action trigger pull wasn't "bad", ended up sending mine to CGW foe Pro package upgrade. It's really amazing now! This CZ helps to make me a better shooter than I am.

As far as the CZ allowing me to shoot better, I had the same experience right out of the box. Standing at 25 yards with the CZ was MUCH less of a chore than with my other handguns

You like the CZ better, but you pick the Glock. Marvelous decision making!

I'm a CZ Fan for decades . My first experience was the 452 22lr . When CZ wasn't even in the common vernacular stateside . Almost 30 yrs ago. I'm here for the P09. It's going for 350 USD in some places. I was wondering if it was Taurus like or CZ standard quality. I trust your reviews you your videos and explanation tell me everything I need to see. Just bought the P09 Tactical, to run a suppressor. I owe a Glock 22, with conversion 9mm barrel. Both great guns. Pick one or both of them and just enjoy shooting.

Good review. Both are great guns. Think I would have liked to see you review the CZ P10F against a Glock 17 . Just my opinion.

Was on the fence about getting the po7 , thought it was ugly at first. Now I have one and I’d take it over any of my glocks

So many people picking between both. I have them both, loves them both. Each has its pros and cons but one thing for sure is they’re god damn workhorses.

Never shot a glock, but I own an earlier version Cz p07 duty (with the "B" prefix in the serial number) and I love it. Very reliable, very solid shooter. I would like to own a glock as well...

I've ran 500 rounds or more thru my CZ-P09 and my tritium sights are still in great shape and glowing every day when i come in and store it. I absolutely love my CZ, it's never failed me... I've skipped cleaning it after multiple range trips, it got incredibly dirty- and she would still run flawlessly... Failed to mention a when i wrote this that the pistol has around 750 rounds thru it total- I purchased it second hand and he had purchased it about a year prior and didn't run it very often... I purchased it in 2018

Thanks for the comparison. I've got the PO 9 and love it. My hands are medium size and the PO 9 was one of the few double stack pistols that felt very comfortable for me to hold. Many of the double stacks like the CZ 75, Beretta 92, Sig 226 were too thick in the grip for me. I've probably put 800 rounds through it with no issues whatsoever. A very reasonably priced "big" pistol. I am in the market now for new sights. Mine has the new CZ trigger system and I think its fine as is but I may go for a trigger kit sometime down the road.

Yeah the Berettas are amazing but that grip is really thick.. as for the CZ 75 I think the grips are nearly identical to the p09 but I have never held a p09.. you should try the CZ p01 I have one and lots of other guns and it's the only one I carry now.. it's literally perfect for me and feels amazing I also have medium size hands but I'm a dude

I've always been a fan of medium do all size handguns so personally I would probably go with the p01 or p07 over the p09 but if I get a full size 9mm in the future it will definitely be a p09 lol

I watch all your current stuff, but just found this one. Just got got my P09 today. Was glad to see I made the right call. Best part...I literally purchased it for her side of the bed

It’s a little bit of an apples/oranges comparison BUT was nicely done. My 09 has had zero issues with the fluorescent paint used on the sights. Maybe they’ve changed the formula or how it’s applied. I owned Glock 17,19,22,26,27 and 35. I don’t own any now. I like the double strike capability of a DA/SA gun and I prefer its operation to striker fire. A firearm is a personal choice. I don’t give a rats ass what someone chooses to carry as long as they carry and are competent with it. I have my preferences. Others, theirs. I also like Sig but the CZ is becoming my favourite overall.

I love the CZ Family. I went and watched this video and ordered a P-09 today. Price $303. Not bad at all. I want the new CZ Shadow 2 Compact but too expensive now. I watched your video on it. ✌️

i noticed in the video that the slide on the CZ didnt consistently lock back on an empty magazines. whats up with that?

Pop your mag in with solid force. The slide will automatically drop on the CZ. Fantastic for fast reloads!

Just put $6 in springs in my p09 last night, took 10 minutes and made a huge difference 14lb main spring, rami firing pin spring, and I cut about 3/16 off the pin block spring, scary how nice the trigger group is without even touching the hooks or anything

Anywhere to purchase this as a comprehensive package? Any legal concerns (after an unfortunate incident having to use the gun)?

Just bought CZ PO-9. Waiting for it to show up in the mail. You mentioned a downside of the hammer of the CZ but I don't remember you saying what the upside is. If you dropped it in the snow or mud and you got a click, you can attempt to fire again with the double action. Still nothing then clean the hammer off and away you go. Glock on the other hand. If you drop it in the mud or sand, I doubt snow would do anything to it, and you got a click, you're loosing that round and you're racking the slide.

Ive shot over 1000rds through my P09 and my sights are totally fine. They glow bright in the night too.

I have a cajunized p09 full trigger job. Cajun gun works black rear and fiber front. And tungsten guide rod. It shoots like a laser.

Do you still have those CZ sights lying around somewhere?

I would like to use my P.O 9 for metal challenge or as a backup for three gun. I changed out the decocker for the safety. I found the safety very flimsy and untrustworthy. Wish CZ would make an upgrade for the safety. I know this is not a competition gun but would like to use it as a backup to my STI apeiro. I just have no confidence in the safety bring it rapidly out of the holster cocked and locked. any suggestions. thank you

Have you tested the CZ p09 Kadet kit? It seems logical to me to be able to practice with a .22 and have two potential guns in one

As durable and reliable a pistol as the p09 and p07 are I think people are missing out on how sweet these things shoot it would be cool to see more people shooting these

get the P07 for your current setup.

If you're having trouble reaching the slide release, then maybe that's a sign that the medium backstrap is the wrong choice for you?

Not necessarily. The medium backstrap might give him the perfect trigger reach which is far more important than reaching the decocker with your thumb without breaking your shooting grip.

Real question, I am having a real hard time finding a place that has cz p-09 parts. Does anyone have any recommended websites to order parts for that gun from a simple magazine to sites ect... help !!!

What happened to your CZ sights? I have close to 3,500 rounds through mine. Purchase in April of 2017. The sights still glow bright.

About the CZ P-09 Hi, one question please, the internal rails of the frame where the slide slides have metal protection ?, because steel skimming over polymer, bad affair, too much fraying of the frame. Thanks for your videos. Greetings from Spain.
