Raw strength and ability to lift weights is incredible with this guy, but still far away from fully translating to the table similar to Larry Wheels. His power is there, but as Devon said about Larry -- these guys need to shift their mentality about AW from strength sport to combat sport.

Crazy potential just lacks of experience but the strenght is insane and about doing pull ups with weight and still training for arm wrestling there is definitely a way to do both look at Alexey lapin for example champion of Ukraine in arm wrestling and still does really heavy pull ups

If Denis Cyplenkov tells you "you are very strong", you definitely are :)

John Brzenk is considered to be the GOAT, which is also Denis' view. There's a lot of elements that go into being a GOAT. It shouldn't be confused with the Best of all time. Which is probably Levan anyway, but Denis is of course legendary in armwrestling. Pushkar too.

@@Siberius- That's the humility of Denis talking and that's precisely my point. Besides being a freak of nature (physique and strength) coupled with his unparalleled arm wrestling prowess he is very humble and an incredible person. For me, that is a definition of a GOAT.

You can disagree of course. John has been at the top for 4 decades straight. What he has done, especially at his weight fighting the super-heavy weights, for for how long he's done it for, is unparalleled by anyone. No one even comes close. It's very rare to find that person in ANY sport. It's ridiculous. Would John beat prime Denis or Levan? hell no. But that's not required to be the greatest of all time. It IS required to be the best of all time, but yea that's suspected to be Levan. All the things you mentioned, also apply to John. Just not as huge, or as physically obvious. It's like a semi-hidden superpower.

@@Siberius- What consititues the GOAT can be derived quantitatively (via stats and numbers) or qualitatively (based on your own personal likes). For me, Denis is the perfect exemplification and personifcation of GOAT (entirely based on my reverence and liking for Denis Cyplenkov).

Great video. Awesome to see Denis in 2021 sharing his knowledge with younger athletes. The part at the end where he shows the hammer Devon gave him and revealed it had a note inside was great! Anybody who knows how deep of a thinker Devon is and what the sport of armwrestling means to him would want to know what that note says. It has to be something extremely special!

This video just came up in my recommended videos under the KZread main page. It's great to see the sport of arm wrestling attract people in other strength sports. People coming over to arm wrestling from other sports will help all sports grow bigger. Andrey Smaev definitely has the physical and mental tools to become a world class, top five arm wrestler. From what I have been watching since I became interested in arm wrestling in 2016, it takes a lot of patience because arm wrestling has a "steep learning curve." Itt takes at least two or three years (or maybe even longer) to reach one's potential in arm wrestling at the professional level. I have to say cyplenkov is true legend in arm wrestling .

Cyplenkov will always be a champion. Great to see him pulling on video! I am not sure other footage of him pulling after his recovery exist, so this example alone is very welcome!

Agree with so many about Denis. So knowledgeable and willing to share. And Strong. One of the sport's legends. 🙂👍

Amazing how this guy came from just a sight of an unknown beast in a remote town, with no social media, to finally being recognized by a wider audience and more importantly by known names who will make him train better

I miss Dennis era. He was absolutely a legend. Life should've given him more to show. Too unfortunate to see all of that.

@@Jafmanz More than in armwrestling. Also, strongmen and powerlifters are getting way more sponsor offers, than armwrestlers. I love armwrestling, I even like to do it myself (just with friends or bars or things like that). But Smaev has the best strength genetics out of any athlete I've seen, except for Talakhadze. Imagine casually pulling up more than the guiness world record, while never competing or doing any pro sport... This guy is something else. Only if he develops his full body will we really know what he's truly capable of.

Well... technically high blood pressure. But any hormone enhancing drug with water retention qualities - has potential to cause that. I have read that this guy is fond of test and anadrol (which would make sense for his line of interests and hobbies :))))

That's a relatively old video also but yeah, even a weakened Hulk is more than enough for most armwrestlers, let alone newbies. Denis said he can return to his best shape in 6 months and defeat Levan, if he gets a good contract for that.

На самом деле это правильно - произносить имена и фамилии с акцентом на язык перевода. Очень сильно помогает в восприятии. На личном опыте убедился, когда мне таджик сказал своё имя, а я не понял что он произнёс, причем дважды. В итоге он мне сказал его же с русским акцентом и мне всё сразу же стало понятно. И как пишется и почему так произносится.
