Lyrics:
Lyin' in my bed, I hear the clock tick and think of you
Caught up in circles, confusion is nothing new
Flashback, warm nights almost left behind
Suitcase of memories
Time after
[Verse 2]
Sometimes you picture me, I'm walkin' too far ahead
You're callin' to me, I can't hear what you've said
Then you say, "Go slow", I fall behind
The second hand unwinds
[Chorus]
If you're lost, you can look and you will find me
Time after time
If you fall, I will catch you, I'll be waiting
Time after time
If you're lost, you can look and you will find me
Time after time
If you fall, I will catch you, (I'll be waiting) I will be waiting
Time after time
[Verse 3]
After my picture fades and darkness has turned to gray
Watchin' through windows, you're wondering if I'm okay
Secrets stolen from deep inside
The drum beats out of time
[Chorus]
If you're lost, you can look and you will find me
Time after time
If you fall, I will catch you, I'll be waiting
Time after time
[Instrumental Break]
[Bridge]
You say, "Go slow," I fall behind
The second hand unwinds
[Chorus]
If you're lost, you can look and you will find me
Time after time
If you fall, I will catch you, I'll be waiting
Time after time
If you're lost, you can look and you will find me
Time after time
If you fall, I will catch you, (I'll be waiting) I will be waiting
Time after time
[Outro]
Time after time

I’m flabbergasted. This is better than the original. She looks half her age and sings like an angel. God bless her

Within the first four bars if this song, my eyes well up and I’m left having difficulty seeing the video clearly. She’s a unique and heaven sent voice. No fancy production orchestration required…just pure Cindy and her heartfelt emotion. ❤
She never had that raspy, straining kind of voice....she hasn't lost a beat.....amazing....
met ms. lauper in the '90s while working in a music store in san francisco's haight district. no entourage -- just her and her young baby. flet like she was the most down to earth person ever. this song touches me deep in the soul. thank you.
This is what natural talent looks and sounds like. No electronics to regulate the voice or vibrato, all natural.

I have heard that she is a classically trained singer.
I am so impressed by Cindy Laupers, Re-emergence of Re-Imagined Vocals, and Effervescent instrumental Sound arrangements, it is a Creative immersion of Reminiscent Nostalgia of Time After Time.... She is Amazing, Ageless, and still contributing Exceptional Musical Talent.
When she hits the high note in "I will be waiting" at 4:02 I was astounded. She is an exceptionally underrated vocalist. One of the best.

I'm having a hard time understanding that she was 51 years old during this performance. Such ethereal beauty.

A beautiful version of a great song. This, and True Colours amongst my most favourites. Miles Davis must have liked it a lot as well, to cover it so well instrumentally.

The 80s were awesome. I was lucky to survive those days. But, God had plans for me, and still does. I'm a healthy happy Grandpa now. And I walk with the Lord, not a 20 something wildman making big money and wearing custom made suites carrying around alot of cash with fast cars and, well, fast everything. I'm blessed. I now enjoy gardening, grandkids, garage sales, and in the winter occasionally watch Miami Vice reruns. It's funny how time changes you.

FYI in addition to starting to play dulcimer about 15 years ago, one of the reasons her style changed is that she learned how to take care of her voice. She was encouraged to sing outside her range when she was younger, and sounded great doing it. But it almost ended her career. She’s able to emote a lot more in her natural register.
I like this version more than the original. She reaches into your soul and touches you

I totally agree, not just because you're saying what I think, because you're absolutely correct! It's such a beautiful intimate portrait of the song we grew up with. Only the original artist can make me believe every word during this performance...and that she did❤
I met Cyndi in Tempe, AZ, in the mid-80's. While she was in town, I escorted her around and protected her anonymity. She was so kind and gracious. I thoroughly enjoyed spending these hours with her and being granted the privilege of getting to know her on a personal level. She even told her crew that I had a nice @#$! She was funny, thoughtful, and engaging, which is absolutely reflected in her music. I am so pleased to see that she is doing well.
This is hands down one of the best musical performances I have every seen of any genre. Wow beautiful

Cyndi is one of a small group of female artists with a voice that stands the test of time. Dolly, Reba, Patsy, Loretta, Diana Ross. They all gave us so much!
Turns out that she incredibly talented as she has proven to all her doubters and critics.
Time, as good wine, has made her quality of her voice just better, which has always been fantastic.

Eu passaria esta minha Vida ouvindo você, Cyndi Lauper. A década de 80 não foi pior para mim, com a perda de dois irmãos (um em 83 e outro em 86), porque suas canções de alguma forma trouxeram Luz e Alegria.
Touching those emotional strings Miss Cyndi...are you getting better dear, voice, looks, presentation, and you wrote this now classic, yes?
Sometimes a decade goes by and then it's there again. That lovely hauntingly beautiful voice. And, I fall in love with her music all over again. Time after time. Thanks, Cyndi.
She is a princess now and the castle where she is singing is made of high sensitivity and purity... Thanks so much Cindy Best song of the 80's and even more today.
This version has made me cry this afternoon, shared this with an old friend for his birthday

Stunning, beautiful. This was my wedding song, after being in a narcissistic marriage for over 20 years, I realise the song was for me and the words for myself. I have found me finally again. Thank you for the reminder xx divorced and memories are in a suitcase ❤️
She looks so young and I’ve been saying this for 30 yrs! She is literally ageless.

Beautiful cover by Cyndi Lauper. Watching her play the dulcimer is reminiscent of Joni Mitchell; tender and poignant 👏👏👏👏
That is the loveliest I have ever seen Cyndi, such passion in her singing and songs. I have adored her since the 80s when we were both so young ...she just gets better in every way....such a lovely woman.
