So it took 254 miles of range to go 216 actual miles. Thinking about my model Y the Truck did better than my Y does on the freeway. I do not drive at 70mph, but it seems to do better at least comparing it to this trip. Cheers.

It was a 6 hour drive so I definitely needed to eat and take a break. Unfortunately the fast food restaurant was packed and took so long to get us our food. Otherwise I would've charged to 60-70%. Thanks for the watch and comment 😁

I've done 6 road trips of 1450 to 1670 miles with my Model Y and find that it's very relaxing and not much slower than a gas Suv. Charging has never been a problem and get out and walking every 3 plus hours is great and the Charging average is 25 minutes. If you figure the time I save not getting gas at home 2 times a week and never getting oil changes I save many hours each year. Plus home charging costs $7 or less for 200 plus miles and never standing outside in Michigan winters watching my gas fillup is awesome.

1:13 It's called not succumbing to peer pressure... I've done a roadtrip from California to Florida and back in my Model Y going 55-60mph the whole way except on roads where there were single lanes where people couldn't get around, and then on the way back from Texas to California I did 80-90 the whole way. There is no reason to go the same speed as others that are speeding. At the slower speeds I got 180-240 wh/mi and at the higher speeds I got 350-460+wh/mi. That's nearly double the energy used as well as a lot more stress on the tires, motors, risk of rock chips, more bug splatter, etc. We all decide what is worth more to us. Those higher speeds have a lot of downsides.

Tesla should just leave the rear space behind the chargers empty to allow you to pull next to the curb on the oposite side of the regular parking spots. I did that in several superchargers while towing and it worked GREAT... and no need for special pull thru charging locations.

The fact that range is better than estimated and jumped from 10% to 25% just shows how bad Tesla is at the algorithm. It has worked the other way for me on trips where it said to stop charging and then couldn’t make it to the next charger. This is why so many people hate EV’s. Every aspect of Tesla’s are amazing and crappy at the same time. Not everyone loves the challenge of owning an EV. I sold mine and bought a gas guzzling 5.0 liter supercharged V8. So much happier!
