Never knew such a tool existed. This is so you don't have to remove the knuckle clips. I always do though. Makes cleaning out the old grease easier.

Yup! I put links in the description for amazon. They are not clickable on shorts in youtube anymore. But you could copy and paste them. You can get these anywhere. Amazon has the most choice right now and they seem to be the cheapest 😃

Good point and very true! Usually the value and durability of an oem axle is much higher than economical aftermarket replacements. So if just the boot is bad, I like to replace the boot 😃🔧

So you don't clean out the old grease and dirt? How long do you expect the joint to last? You know a few taps with the hammer and the joint will come off the shaft right? How is this saving any time or making it easier?

Here is a video on testing them and forcing noise from the front cv-axles. Listen for the crunch crunch and clunk clunk under load. Can happen when cornering or accelerating most cases. Usually the noise follows the tire speed and clunks every half revolution 😃🔧 kzread.info/dash/bejne/jIuXuZKYet3JpLQ.html

Either way is a good plan. I like to save oem shafts with new boots if the joint is still good generally because the aftermarket is usually not quite as good. But the boot replacement can be hard sometimes also 😃
