Its great to see Dad out helping I lost my Dad on August 5 1995 man I miss him I would pickup old boat motors at garage sales he would hav them running at the end of that same day man he was good with motors he did the same thing got it running then it stopped we look at everything then I said dad does it need gas he opened it up no gas we laughed for ever great memories

That 051 is running to rich it could run alot faster. Mayby governor or ignition adjustment aswell. I love That 051 its like a motorcycle that cuts wood 😂

My friend has a 051 with à 30 inch bar he got it new 1984 she still does the job

Watching that brought back many fond memories of me and my father working together for years. He is 91 now and not able to do that kind of work, but the memories are still there!

That was outstanding.... Woodhound Sr has a Senior Moment...doh, forgot to put gas in the tank

lol...that ole gal is in pretty good shape for her age, just a bit on the heavy side...hahaha. If the 291 is still running that good 20 years from now I won't mind. 😀 👍 🍻

It was a good afternoon, only thing is the heat & humidity climbed up later in the day.

Great video! Making memories with Dad. Some nice firewood there. Gotta get more merchandise like those tumblers . I’m gonna be splitting a little oak today , the rounds are huge. Plan on being done by noon in this heat. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks! Yes it's always a fun time out making wood...even tho that day it did turn hot & sticky, ugh. Hope ya got a good amount split up before the heat set in...we had a bit of a breeze today to keep things a little cooler.👍 😀 🍻

I love the sound of your dad's saw and I think it may even ran better. I had a large branch fall on my wood stack on Sunday. I must have built it right because it didn't move.

My dad loved old boat motors I bought a pretty big one it was real heavy we put it in a 55 gallon barrel he pulled on the rip cord he left it on full throttle man when it started it was like I just got out of a shower head to toe soaked he couldn't stop laughing to this day I still think he did it on purpose lol lol lol

The 51 looks violent, your arms must hurt after a day with it! :D

the call sign is av. o51. so a=antivibration its a bucking saw.I rest on the log that helps. the SR.

Yeah it's not a saw to use for limbing...lol....you can just set it on the log and the weight of itself will push it thru cutting. 👍 😀 🍻

Do like the Old saws, had a 051, loaned it out and never got her back

Ohh that saw has seen MANY cords of wood...lol

It’s all about chain speed. But that ol horse will probably out last 3 of these new gen saws! [edit]...WAIT,WAIT,WAIT...is SR still running that old chain he showed us that was new in ‘77 and looked like a necklace? Get him a new chain and that new Stihl will be left in the dust!

Garny, that is anew chain on the 51 .it has not cut much but got a good work out , now remember the 51 was new in1984.

When pops was starting his saw it looked like his chain needed to be tighter. Is this correct to have that much slack? I'm currently just starting out. So any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks

He likes to run it a little loose...it tightens up when ya hit the throttle, I'm not exactly sure if it's the 'proper' way to run, but I run mine more loose than tight as well.

Good example of how not to cut up a tree.Can't believe nobody went to the er.

LOL....what?!? Small side...that was closer to the base so it was getting bigger.....hahahahaha.....it did break off near the bottom so that may have been a bit to my benefit....shhhh. 👍 😀 🍻
