You know, I have found that ANY good serrated bread knife will work. It might be a better purchase because you'll use it more often. I picked mine up from Mr Bezos' little company for $20...actually it's the best knife I have ever used, maybe the best thing I have bought in the last 10 years...and I have never been one to be easily enthused by a kitchen implement ! Mine worked extremely easily, threee clean strokes got me through a 6" Firm, though I think maybe that's because it was new and sharp.

I have used an electric knife. But for a cut that looks like the factory edges, a band saw is best. With a band saw you can get 1/2 inch thick pieces, rounded corners, and very complex shapes. Just use very low feed speeds. A table saw works too, but needs a very sharp blade, a very slow feed, and definitely push sticks. Using a band saw, I have cut 1 inch foam slabs to use for greenhouse gaskets, contoured to fit kayak transportation pads, a soft Valentine heart, furniture cushions of complex shapes, and a variety of small packing strips to close air gaps around doors and windows. The band saw is faster than an electric knife, is more precise, and gives a far better edge surface.

+Kathy torres If it is dry fast foam, simply set the cushion on its side (if it was covered in a breathable fabric) and it will dry out in a few hours. If it is a polyurethane foam then you will have to take the foam out of the cover and set it on its side for many days until it dries out.
