Cutting board - Fade design Walnut and Maple End Grain Cutting Board

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

In this week’s woodworking build, I show you how you can make these fade design end grain cutting boards. I used a walnut and maple for the board and framed the small cutting board with hickory wood and the big cutting board with wenge wood. The small board is 12 by 12 inches and the big one is 18 by 13 inches. Let me know what you’d like to see next. Thanks for watching! Please like, comment, and subscribe. Cheers!

Get yourself a Freud Glue Line Rip blade for those cuts, you are really working that saw on those thick cuts with that blade - you could even try their 18T Thick Rip blade, not sure if you get a glue ready finish off that one., but the Glue Line does a nice job

The border needs to be end grain also. If not then the differences in wood expansion will cause issues. Believe me, this has happened on even the smallest of end grain cutting boards I have made.

How come the two end boards on the larger one are not alternating like the rest?

nice job on the boards but way too long a video to drag out the process. Could have fast forwarded many steps to keep it a bit more simple

You are using a crosscutting blade for ripping. No wonder the table saw struggles to rip the maple. Better using a 24/30 teeth for that purpose. Mixing end with long grain is a no go. Other than that, nice work.

Why didn't you just cut off the end of the large board and reglue a new border? It looks odd with the pattern screw up that you made.
