Cutest Town in Northern California, Nevada City

Nevada City is one of the cities towns in Northern California. It's full of interesting people, great art, and spectacular nature. Not too many people know about this place but it is one of my favourite places in California. Located in the sierra foothills, it's a must if you are having a little roadie.

Was my home from 74-84...I lived right on Broad Street for a few years just past the Lola Montez Theater and also lived on the Yuba throughout my first 8 years or so...beautiful place and birthplace of my children..was a great chapter in my life.

Love the snippets of community that you are finding and presenting to us. I think here in Australia it is the same, in the sense that community in many places is fading away and slowly being replaced by something else. The small rural town in which I grew up has now become like a suburb of city 25km away.

Ooh you’re going to have so much fun!! Right, so if you are down at Bridgeport on the right side of the bridge there is a big deep swimming area. Go up towards the rapids but before you get to them there are lots of under water rocks. Dive around there and have a look to see if there are some holes. You be able to see the other side as they aren’t that big. Have fun!!

No, you’re alright. I’ve heard that it really has taken a big turn in the last couple of years. Thank you, that’s a great question as I think most of the industries before were to do with drugs but now with it being legal there’s not much for them to do.

I lived up there for almost 2 years.. Place almost killed me with depression !! Kudos to those who survives there ( apart from locals ), coz locals have very thin skin for outsiders ( unless you match their lifestyle and opinion ). For me it was bad spot. Good thing is, you can get away from people and go to nature and forest and river etc.. People are scary up there.. tones of drugs and hate and racism are rampat and fully visible in broad daylight.. but also have met kind peoples ( very few ) .. Be careful it is Slow and old timer place

Yes it is nice to share. But Keep it quiet too please. More by word of mouth. I’ve lived here for 25 years now and back in it’s prime we had less tourism, less trash more friendly encounters. Let’s not make it like the rest of the US please and thank you. 🤫
