USA. We have a restaurant chain here named _Outback Steakhouse_ that serves these as an appetizer, they call them a _Bloomin' Onion._ I order one (which is easily 4x the size of the ones you used, and can feed four people) every time I eat there. If you're ever in the States, you should try one.

Я была на кавказе северном мне очень понравился домбай архыз нас возили на высокую горную долину на высоте 3000км там находиться космическии забыла как называлась на букву э пятигорск минводы нальчик( чегемский водопад) у пешеры где похоронен лермонтов в беседке где он писал мцыри у меня сохранились фотографии

From the US....thanks for sharing this recipe! I have occassionally made these myself. Just a couple of things I learned to make it easier. Place the onion, root side down, in a jar lid approximately the deepth that you want to cut it. This keeps the slices the exact depth and also keeps you from cutting too deep. Next tip...place the cut onion in ice water for at least 30 minutes, and it will open up for you so you can get your batter down deep. Looking forward to seeing what other recipes you share. I love tip sharing with other cooks!

After you cut the onion, put it in a bowl with cold water. It will open like a flower and will be much better to cook it, also will look amazing. Another tip: don t mix the flower with breadcrumbs. Use flower, egg and then breadcrumbs.

Thanks gor extra tips. Do you air dry the onion after soaking in water? Do you repeat dipping into egg & flour/breadcrumbs a second time using your method of separately the breadcrumbs apart from the flour mixture?

Here in the USA we call this blooming onion. I would love to know what dip you used. I use a mixture of mayonnaise, ketchup, and yellow mustard. With that base dip you can add whatever seasoning you think will complement it. I am going to try this with wheat flour as I have never tried that. Thanks for sharing... New Subscriber!!

We use Lighthouse Ranch, it's in the produce section near the veggies. To cut some calories we dilute it with water or skim milk. Best ranch dressing I've found. We're going to try making a Blooming Onion in our new Air Fryer soon. They're soooo good.

@@denabergman6543 TY. My grocer now has gluten free Panko. Have you cooked an onion in the microwave? Put it in a plastic produce bag and steam from within will cook it fat free. A small pat of grass fed cow's butter and S&P.
