I cooked eggplants like this frequently. Everyone love it. And this is my fav too :) it's just i skip the egg and breadcrumbs. I use flavored all purpose flour + water instead. Simpler, very time saving

@@jjapxtlz It may taste like meat but of ALL vegetables, eggplant is probably the most USELESS when it comes to nutrition. I didnt know this myself until recently.

@@jjapxtlz I wouldn’t say it tastes like meat at all. Perhaps if you use different seasoning it could. If you want a vegetable (fruit) that tastes like meat, try jackfruit-again you have to prepare it in a certain way. Pulled “pork” jackfruit can be very convincing. But I think jackfruit isn’t too easy to buy in the US.

This is similar to "Tortang Talong" in the Philippines. It is more delicious if you put white onions and garlic powder in the egg mixture, no need for breadcrumbs. Also we grill the eggplant first before we remove the skin, to add a smoky taste to the eggplant ♥️♥️.

@@chiragmodi8088 you can make a pancake batter with tofu, flour and baking powder as a substitute for the egg. the taste will differ a bit, but it's still good. Kinda like eggplant okonomiyaki.

For vegans and vegetarian instead of egg we could make a runny paste of all purpose flour and corn starch , and then proceed with the process. It’s damn nice. In India we make eggplant rounds and have gram flour for the outer paste and shallow fry it, which makes it crispier too. Amazing isn’t it food is made more or less the same way in all cultures. Food united the world. 👍
