this is actually one of the best tutorial videos I've come along, no fluff, no long talking, no music... perfection. Thank you for this
I really appreciate small lessons you demonstrate in your videos, like the edge neighbours/delete geometry method in the geonodes. A lightbulb went on when I saw that, thank you

You're very welcome!
Great as always, thanks for sharing. FYI: You don't have to triangulate the mesh. For outer edges there is only one neighbour face, so you can use a compare node with the option Greater than and a value of 1, without triangulating.
Great video, thanks for sharing. I learnt alot from this and will for sure incorporate these techniques in one of my future videos 👏

No problem 🙂🤘
Hi @Johnny Matthews great tutorial as usual. Are there any new nodes in the pipeline from your side?

Not at the moment. I had a bit of burnout and am trying to ease my way back in.
Great video! What would be the best workflow to export the new hair nodes into another software?

apply the geometry nodes and convert to mesh.
Thank you, so good. At 09:50, increasing the hair density to solve the texture sparsity problem makes sense but I didn't understand how come adding more cuts to the carpet's plane manage to improve the texture of the hairs? Does this technique have a name or wiki page that I can learn?

I think it might have to do with UVs but I’m not 100 sure why it works.
Thanks for the tutorial, I have a problem, when I set the thickness nothing changes, it continues in lines, even though I exaggerate the values in Radius, what could it be? I keep seeing only lines

It appears in Render Mode
5:24 you meant mm, not cm. but anyways, nice demo as always, thanks

Yeah probably. I’m a slave to imperial measurements but I try to use metric as much as possible.
that was very useful. specially the trim curve. is there a node to increase the hair length rather than grow in sculpt mode?

Not that I know of

I think there's one in the new essentials hair nodes asset library. If I remember correctly it's the one for trimming as well but this group also includes to option to grow the strands.

Good catch!
sooo this 'easy hair/fur' preset has no setting for the curves lenght? O_o that seems like a very basic and fundamental thing to have when working with fur/hair. I'm assuming this because you had to use the Trim curve geo-node just to shorten it.

There is a trim hair curves node in the essentials set. I just decided to do it this way. If you sculpt the base curves and grow or shrink them it will grow or shrink the surrounding hairs. But for this I wanted it to be completely even.
Not the best tutorial actually
