Anyone looking to do this better, follow these steps. This provides a longer but a better finish/durability when trying this. 1. Use either a 600-1000 grit sandpaper or some scotch Brite to get a better surface (after you disassemble) 2. Wipe the dust off with a cloth then use a degreaser (I use isopropyl alcohol) 3. Prime your surface (use grey primer for white or black controls, black primer for white controls or white primer for black controls for easier seeing the coverage of the primer) and wait for it to dry. You may want to recoat 1-2 times more 4. Follow the hydrodip instructions in the video 5. Use a top coat spray to preserve the spray for longer (once again can be 1-3 coats)

You really should’ve said in the video that damaging the paper on the back where the batteries are to remove the screw removes your controller warranty because it indicates that you have opened it and messed with something inside

Painting the back parts of the controller would have made the controller too slippery to hold on to. Due to the painted surfaces being smoother than the factory produced surface.

The back piece has a metal piece(the part where you put in the batteries) in it that would've been messes up if he painted it.

Fc bayern Munich I thought the same thing, but then I tried it one day! The hardest thing is finding the right screw but so you don’t strip the screws. I used the wrong one and stripped the screws on the way back in so my controller was loose 😂

No they made some modifications to the original controller with the S model in 2016. It has a slightly different design, a different texture, better buttons, and added Bluetooth.

It does, since paint is more slippery and has the texture of cheap plastic it will worsen the ergonomics. Do not do this to your controller.

u can take off the sticker instead of drilling a hole through it
