I love when customers say stuff like "It sounds like a dolphin" and "It sounds like a husky" and they're weirdly spot on correct with their description. That's hilarious! Also, those disgusting interiors are WAY MORE COMMON than you'd think. I grew up in a very rural area and it's staggering the number of people who just dump cig trays, food, etc on their footwell. Then they pile on stuff to forget about it. It's just insane.

It’s true, I grew up in rural country, and people invite you to ride, and must clean a spot for you to sit, push stuff aside so you can get your feet in. I know a woman who is a hoarder, she has a crew cab pickup and it is packed to the ceiling! Front and back, just enough room for her to sit, and no more. It truly is sad.

He asked her how. She twisted off that cap on top and looked inside and didn't see any oil. So she went to the auto parts store and bought oil and put it in. she then looked in the hole and didn't see any oil yet so went in and bought more oil. He asked her how many quarts she put in. she said 15 quarts. He asked her why she didn't put more in and she said she bought all the store had....he drained it all out and saved it for future oil changes.

I used to drive charter bus back in the ‘80s. The owner had his teenage son come in to work as a mechanics helper. On his first oil change he did on one of the school buses that was gas powered front engine type, after draining the oil and changing the filter, he started putting in oil, but because the oil wasn’t filling up, he kept adding oil until it came out of the oil filler on the valve cover. It was good that the mechanic happened to catch it in time and question why the kid had used up so much oil. He had to drain out a lot of oil.
Was trying to figure out why my truck was dripping water constantly. After a day or two, I went to close the door and heard a sloshing sound. I then realized the door was filled with water, as the drain holes that usually allow any water that gets in to drain had managed to get clogged with some stray grass. Remember everyone, change your door fluid regularly.

@@stezenast5878 Germany introduced mandatory vehicle roadworthiness inspections in 1951. In Germany the VI is called Hauptuntersuchung (literally: main inspection), in reference to the main technical inspection company in Western Germany, often called TÜV. A safety inspection and an emission inspection are required to be done by one of the authorized private technical inspection companies (e.g. TÜV, DEKRA, KÜS, GTÜ, ...) every 2 years for passenger cars, motorcycles, light trucks and light trailers. New passenger cars and very light trailers have to pass their first roadworthiness check after 3 years; motorcycles, light trucks, mid-weight trailers and camper trailers after 2 years. After working in dealership parts and service for 35 years I’m so glad I found this channel.
A buddy of mine's mom had her front passenger side caliper bolts come out on her Chrysler Aspen while pulling into a store parking lot, and the whole caliper was just dangling by the brake line and the pads fell out. Miraculously, there was no damage to the caliper or any other components, and good thing the line was still in good shape. I even found the pads undamaged on the side of the driveway and was able to fix it in the parking lot without needing any additional parts aside from the new bolts and clips for the pads. One of the craziest and luckiest mechanical failures I've encountered, that incident could've been catastrophic and had the best possible outcome. Apparently she hired some meth head to install her pads the week before for $100, so I inspected the rest of the brakes as well and guess what, most of the other bolts weren't tight enough and he didn't clean and re-grease the slide pins, which were sticky from old dirty grease.

@@ChrisdeHaan no it was the ball joint. The pinch bolt holds the knucke to the ball joint. He over heated it when he heated up the seized pinch bolt. It happens lots to these Subaru's. Other people have mentioned it in the comments. The mechanic working on it also said it was the ball joint.

I'm a woman of almost 70 years of age; my wonderful father taught me the absolute most basic elements of car care back when I was 12 years old, wanting all of his children to understand the importance of caring for vehicles, especially his two daughters. My sister and her husband do take excellent care of their cars, too. He and Mom taught us that it's very important to keep the car's interior clean and neat, too, which I do. I hate a dirty car, though the mats do get dirt on them, of course, especially right now, with our rainy and very windy spring weather. But I NEVER let any car I own get into the terrible shape seen on all the videos on YT!

I've been an industrial mechanic for most of my adult life. I'm a decent shade tree mechanic when I have the time. I love cars, but I don't exactly enjoy working on them. What irritates me is when my wife takes one of our cars to the shop for an oil change and tire rotation and 30 minutes later here comes the manager with a 3 page list of stuff he wants to change on a vehicle that's only 4 years old. Are you kidding me?!?!? She calls me upset because they won't listen to her and claim the vehicle dangerous if they don't fix it. So a shitty dishonest shop wants to replace things that aren't broken on a vehicle still under manufacturers warranty. Eventually I get on the phone with the store manager. I get the same story told to me he told her. This is what he gets back "Hey listen buddy I realize you think yourself hot shit preying on innocent women to pad your bottom line, but where you work on vehicles in the that might be in the range of junk range, to $60k new. I work on machines that cost millions when brand new. Machines that make a Bugatti look like a Yugo. So you fix my wife up and do just what she asked you to, and you do a good job. I'll inspect that vehicle when it gets home and if I think I see anything fishy or out of place. I'm going to come find you, and when I do you won't be happy." Only ever had 1 problem after that. A what had always been trustworthy garage broke a coolant return line with a plastic fitting. Oh you could have called it a coincidence, but the path the coolant line took that plastic fitting was tucked in all nice and safe where it would be impossible to apply any accidental later pressure to it. Not to mention come on, it was the coolant return line. So you're out the door and down the road before the thermostat opens up and suddenly you don't have coolant anymore. So every once and a while I just go down and set on the public median and inform their customers just how they run the shop. I've seen a few get back in their cars and leave. Oh... he gets so mad, can't do anything to me because I'm on public access right of way.

Here in the UK for all cars over 3yrs old we have an MOT (Ministry of Transport) test which it has to pass every year to remain on the road. Sometimes it's a real expensive pain in the arse fixing silly things that only tick boxes..... but when you look at some of these vehicles, it kind of makes me grateful we have a standardised test.

"lug nuts kept coming loose". I would suggest using loctite, but it sounds more like they need to start pumping some iron, or use a more powerful impact wrench. I've never had lugs loosen by themselves.
Woooo. I remember merging onto roosevelt Blvd from 76 into philly once, and a dumpster transport truck lost a piece of metal the size of my fist. Thankfully I saw it and it was bouncing away in the same direction I was driving... I can still see it bouncing and spinning at a 100 rpm past my passenger side in my mind though. Scary stuff

About 2 weeks ago, local news story, someone's transmission fell off on the interstate. Took out 3 cars, killed one person. Years ago in FL, tow driver on scene of a wreck left think it was a wrench in the road; flew up through a windshield and killed a person. Definitely scary stuff.
Ballsack? Dolphin? Husky? The best part is how much on point that is xD
Some of those were hysterical and some were scary, and that last one was terrifying!!
3:22 I had a Chevy Cruze come in with that same problem, the customer kept adding 1qt of oil at every fuel fillup because of an oil leak that was leaving a few droplets on the ground when parked. When the car got to the dealership it wouldn't turn over, oil had pooled in the cylinders because it was so full. I think it had nearly 15qts of oil in it (holds 4qts) and yes it smoked like crazy once it got running.
They really need to implement basic car mechanics into school systems, this kind of stuff really hurts my brain 😂

3:11 this has to be one of the worst - not because it's outright dangerous, expensive, or mechanically complicated. But that someone completely screws up a task as menial as changing the damn wiper blades makes you concerned how they manage with fluid refills or let alone tire pressure. (Which I suppose explains other videos with coolant/engine oil cocktails)

3:20 I've been there! My first oil change ever, I just dumped an entire 5-quart jug into my 90s Civic that only took something like 3.8 quarts. I must've figured because it didn't overflow and because oil was well past the "low" line on the dipstick, that all was well. Filled my neighborhood with clouds. Thankfully, because it was a Civic, it was no harm no foul after I drained the oil and refilled it with the proper amount.
Thanks to auto play, that violent glovebox clip made tea come out my nose, thank you lmao
While I was settling the bill with my mechanic for some brake work he performed on my Honda last fall, another customer tried pulling his car onto the alignment machine similar to the lift at 4:14 and wound up with the same result. I can't repeat what the mechanic said He was that POed.
