In part 3 of the rat build, I figure out an overly complex 3 link panhard setup to mount the rear axle.

    Yes I agree great jobs on your builds. You need to build a regular muscle car. That would be great to see.

    Pop the ball in the rod end, take it to your belt sander and sand away the portions that stick out past the rod end body. Then pop that back in and stick two washers over that. Alternatively, pop the ball inside out, get some pipe that fits inside the rod end and you're done. With the screw in, it's going to act like the real deal. Any angle issues are addressed on the sleeve via sanding.

    I'd go with a 4 link. 2 more links parallel with the lowers. Adjustable links allows for correcting pinion angle.

    those small shocks u should take a screw that fits your rear end and turn down the top of the bolt until it fits through shock then put shock over it and mushroom over top end of screw after u mushroom over put a grove in the top for a screwdriver to tighten. I hope that will help i would like to see those shocks on that rat rod.

    here's a thought, look at ,i think, 1962-1966 chevy pickup's , with coil springs all around , and look at the rear end on how it's done. panhard and swing arm's. i wish i new how to communicate with a drawing for an idea for the mounting ( other than stock), at making a joint at the swing arm to the axle , so there would be more articulation for more free movement. anyways bitchin stuff your doin !! She's coming along nice! The RC4WD Ultimate Scale Shocks (60mm version) will be just right back there I reckon. Them little 1/18 shocks are neat, I never seen them before. They would look OK on the front perhaps?

  • @RCeveryday

    I think they would be perfect for the front. Just still working on ways to attach them.

    Could you make a crossmember above the rear axle then mount the shocks angled, like on the TF2 chassis??

  • @RCeveryday

    @RCeveryday

    8 жыл бұрын

    I could but the main issue is attaching the shocks to the axle. All of the mounts are outside the frame rails.

  • @RCeveryday

    @RCeveryday

    This is a yota. Boom racing makes a similar axle at 152mm. Tamiya semi truck axles are even narrower, but not as realistic

    So I gotta ask.. is there a good website or place to buy frames, bodies, parts, etc...? I've been watching videos for a couple days and I am very interested in getting started on building some trucks and stuff.

  • @RCeveryday

    All of my hot rod builds are pretty much from scratch. I use ebay to find some stuff, the axles and suspension are mostly RC4wd crawler parts. This video shows the first one I built using an old tamiya bruiser chassis, but all my newer builds I made my own frames from steel tubing welded and brazed. My later bodies are custom 3d printed as well. I have some videos on that as well with links to where to buy them.
