Custom Motorized Fat Tire Bike With Jackshaft Kit Explained

The building of my custom Mongoose fat tire bike and the struggles i went thru to get the jackshaft kit installed and working. Shout out to Sick Bike Parts for their help with the installation and stock of the correct parts for fat bike jackshaft kit. Another custom beat by DJ "D" created with the use of small samples from Whodini, Marvin Gaye and Thomas Dolby.

    Regular Guy awesome stuff man cheap inexpensive way to get thrills.im 38 and i love my stock bike kit. I traded a stock motovox 80cc and clutch for a basket case bike engine. No exhaust,no intake. I fabricated and welded a header pipe and made intake out of a spray paint can lid a couple pieces break line and a tupperware bowl and some washers. I call it ram air intake lol

    Hi there I just bought a sportsman flyer bike with a loop frame and I want to go a different route of a more powerful 4 stroke engine that's a vintage cast iron HH120 tecumseh 12hp lawnmower engine for racing purpose of my tribute 1914 indian motorcycle built into a chopper with a loop frame and a bent lowrider 26 bent twisted bird cage fork and I want to have the jackshaft kit run off the tecumseh race engine that was 12hp and now it's built to a 18hp and the engine I have for my bike sounds mean and nasty but I really need a jackshaft kit to have the engine I have run the jacket shaft off that big engine to finish my modified 1914 indian motorcycle tribute it be nice for you to make a video of my type of build and how to use the two stroke kit and bypass the mounting for the 2 stroke engine and have it mounted to a 12hp HH120 tecumseh engine

    Thank You! Everybody's skin is becoming too thin and while we are bickering with each other, America is being sold under are very feet. Like I was saying to another subscriber, cant we have a hobby that race is not an issue in? Yes! and it is bike life. Sir if i see you and your family even if all of you were wearing confederate flag shirts, I would as a driver do what ever i can to pass you safely and even assist you if your needing to make your way thru traffic on the road at no hesitation. Yes a bike can save someone's butt today because i care more about the freedom to ride on two wheels In this great country than any other social issues that are in America at this point. I'm 53 years old and i can care less how anyone feels about my origins being from somewhere with too much sun on a daily basis. And this is the only way i can leave our generation some of my knowledge i have acquired over my lifetime. Sir we need to get the youngsters back into building things. buy your grand kids the kits, if their old enough to handle tools, which was 6 for my dad. We're leaving a generation of kids that think there's a "book for dummies" for everything lol. So since its free i plan to make more tapes and be like a black mr. rogers so stay tuned and you will hear some more things you thought you'd never hear a black man say i keep em coming so you won't have to feel uncomfortable hearing them lol. God Bless You brother and Merry Christmas to you and yours k.

Not sponsored by them but a good product is a good product which is actually hard to find in this hobby. be careful with some of the aftermarket stuff that says it will make the engines faster like boost bottles, porting etc. most of the products from china are really cheap and not strong enough to be modifying. they have a chinese jackshaft but the shaft is in mm and the support is made of diecast metal. I try to save others the money that i wasted learning this. God Bless and Bike Life!

    Fantastic work! I have motorized mountain bikes with both gas and electric for years, also ride on/off rd motorcycles. This can be registered in many states, I love being able to peddle up steep hills for the workout but having the motor through gears. I have used a Staton Inc front shifting kit on a few bikes, and am now mounting one to a fat bike. How does this handle bumps without a rear suspension? Does running the pressure lower help reduce bounce, without rim damage? Real art right there, regardless if optimal performance or not, respect you brother I do.

  • @DavidPhillipscendashi

    @DavidPhillipscendashi

    6 жыл бұрын

    Hey thanks man appreciate the Love. I took that one thru all kinds of test last summer and had a blast. I ended up with the pressure slightly low for road smoothness but enough to not have to struggle in pedal mode. I travel mostly on paths and some streets so it was great without rear suspension or front. I'm currently rebuilding that one and changing the gear ratio to get a little more torque out of it and saving for those fat tire front shock forks i seen available. My ultimate goal is to restore my 89 convertible mustang, so i practice with my builds. the front is fiberglass to save on the weight. I don't under stand, your having someone else put it together for you? If you have questions about it send me some pics of the build and i will return you what i feel would be safety concerns to look at. These can be dangerous if not built with safety in mind. yeah my bike is cute but it is prototype number 5 for a reason. the faster it would get, the unsafer it became, brakes flying off all kind of stuff. I'm not rich so there are some inexpensive additions needed to make the standard motorized bike kit safer. But if you have money the hell with these gas bikes the new fat tire ebikes make mine look like doo doo in comparison lmao! God Bless and serious any questions send them to justageek47@gmail.com and i will reply. I rather help someone ride these safely than have them banned from unsafe rides.

    David Phillips .... That's awesome brother and I'm pumped to see it now. Being a hillbilly and living an hour from cell service or even a wally world. Welding and everything else is something I have always done on the homestead over the years. Playing growing up with go karts and building buggies. Now just for everything..... I love KZread though brother. I hate all the current drama with them and eliminating channels that have been on here years. Simply because it doesn't align with their company values suddenly. I believe that's a fine line and they are stepping over it onto our 1st amendment and GOD given right to free speech. Being a veteran I have a bit of a "mature" verbage and don't want to start a channel and then them delete it or something because I wasn't P.C. etc... Not to mention being camera shy to begin with. So God Bless you as well brother. Also a huge thank you and show of respect to you and the rest of the great content creators on this platform.

    To be honest i got a good spring out of it but its because i took my bike to the limit to see what would fail. overall for a person without a lot of income it held pretty good if i would not have pushed it so hard. So this spring i have all metal wheels for the chain derail-er and tensioners, i had to get a stronger bike chain cause the original snapped, and i have replaced the crank arms and bearings because or warping and wear. The jackshaft can be configured on the engine drive side even with a single speed for torque reasons which would be stronger and use the heavier chain. engine starts with a 10 tooth, with the jakshaft in between you can change the standard 17/10 tooth gears for 21/9 gears available which will send more torque to the rear sprocket. anything below 44 tooth requires more pedaling power to engage the engine without the jackshaft. thanks for checking this out and i hope this helped you.

    scratch them gas engines they fail too much, electric is now getting cheaper and is a more reliable way to go. you can buy 72v electric engine kit for about 300 and battery for about 500, which with the failure rate of these gas engines it will cost more than that in the long run. New video coming soon. God Bless.

I have a 125cc for stroke engine with a long shaft on the drive and am wondering if the jack shaft will bolt up to it the engine is a 4 stroke engine with a kick start on it and I would love to mount it on a 26-28 feature mountain bike. Will it work or do I need to modify the bike frame

  • @DavidPhillipscendashi

    @DavidPhillipscendashi

    2 жыл бұрын

    Its more about the chains and gears you use than mounting issues. I still use a jackshaft instead of offsetting the engine. Not to the regular chain side but just on the engine side because the regular chain is barely strong enough for the 49cc engines. I use the 100cc too because of the fat tire weight and it still only go around 30 to 33 mph which is fine for me. Sound like you will have to custom mount that engine your talking about and i would use a 26" beach cruiser should have enough space for it. Great ideal can't wait to see it k. God Bless be safe. @@DavidPhillipscendashi the bt80 kit has a starter built in so i was thinking of trying to buy a starter and battery and "afro-engineer" something up. i was watching go-cart vids where they install starters and solenoids but seems like i would need a charging setup also. i can buy separate parts from the bt80 kit to make things a little easier or at least see everything i would need. i wish i knew about the bt80 when i bought my kit because it has everything. i'm gonna buy the centrifugal clutch and see how that goes. i have the jackshaft kit which i like. for some reason i have a pull start but i its too hard to pull so i never use it. maybe you might know what i could do. it seems like i have too much compression if i take out the spark plug its easy to pull.

  • @DavidPhillipscendashi

    @DavidPhillipscendashi

    3 жыл бұрын

    @@michaelperry1309 Ok brother, I see what your trying to do, but after looking at the bt 80 design i'm not sure how you would make that work without at least using the bottom of the engine mold which holds the starter parallel to the gear flywheel. also if the pull start is too hard to turn the engine i am not confident that the electric starter will do any better. one thing about these parts from china there not very durable. I even took my pull starter apart to put a stronger rope and handle in it. I think your going the right route with the centrifugal clutch. I have had that too much compression problem before because i use car engine gasket maker instead of the cheap paper gaskets that come with the engine. That bt80 looks like a kit that i would just leave as is and maybe add better exhaust only. Keep me posted cause i am interested in your results. Thanks for watching and God Bless.

  • @DavidPhillipscendashi

    @DavidPhillipscendashi

    5 жыл бұрын

    man sorry missed this question, the sound you hear mostly on the internet are from highly altered and dangerous builds with high speed claims. the average kit with the standard muffler which mine is are even more quiet. i fell into the hype from the other builds too and so my exhaust is a chamber exhaust which is supposed to give it better flow but when i installed it the tail pipe was too small so i cut it off and welded the stock one on giving it a little more power and then drilled 2 additional holes in the end of it for more power and it worked. But with a standard kit i was able to cross 30 mph with the stock exhaust and it was just fine. the key thing to remember with theses bikes are any advertisement promoting performance will lead you to loud k. keep it simple and you will love it. Try the new electric start version out cause pedaling to start can wear you out too k. God Bless stay safe k.

    Well I'll tell you from my experience. with these 2 stroke engines the bike will not go that fast because of weight and tire size. and the rim is pretty thick plus the fat tires absorb every bump. It feels like riding in a Cadillac. Now i use the mount for the rear center hub that is an aftermarket part instead of the supplied rubber gear mount in the kits, so it would not pull by the spokes. It rides comfortably around 25 mph. Hope that helps you out.
