Read all this :
Hope you enjoy this woodwork. Fällkniven always arouses emotions. I am happy with the final result and so is the owner of the knife. So, if you disaggree please put it in comments and give your argument there. Nothing but thumb down means nothing and we don't learn anything. Positively saying I did enjoy this work a lot!

    My lord what a beautiful piece of Cocobolo, Osmo! You continue to amaze me with the way you take a bunch of raw materials and turn them into a beautiful item by simply allowing your eyes to guide your hands as they work. That is a special talent so few have, Thanks for allowing us to enjoy the beauty of your work. (Sad to hear the YT censors have taken an interest in your art.)

    Osmo, first, I like your simple and direct video style. It is very instructive and I personally have learned a great deal from your videos. Second, your recent video by "Backyard Productions" that opened with a dandelion seedhead blowing in the wind and contained the antique maps of Finland very well done and really entertaining. Third, what kind of wood was it that you used to replace the handle on this knife?

    Looks pretty but if you are seriously going to use it then prepare to lose a finger or two. Simple rule of knives my friend is, a big knife needs a big guard and never put fingers in front of guards for a "choked up" grip, use a small knife for choking encounters if you feel that way inclined or man up and get strong hands and wrists that can actually hold a knife.

  • @thetopicala

    @thetopicala

    I honour your opinion but please let us know what you are doing with your blade to cut your fingers? In Finnish puukko heritage there are big and small (puukko) knives and no harm about finger guardless blades. I guess fish fillet might need a finger guard, maybe a small one.

    I'm very sad to hear about this yt issue. Otherwise, i like the video, that wood is outstanding, give a lot of elegancy. Maybe a more prominent guard, just in the low side, give more stability. Anyway, its look very nice. Congrat, Gyula from Transylvania.

    and this is the reason why I didn't by this northern lights model the fear of the handle becoming loose its ok if you just have it as something to look at but if you want to take it out and use it outdoors your better off buying a proper full tang knife.
