Wow... I'll never complain about how expensive hand made custom guitars are!!

imagine how much more expensive it would be if it was actually done by hand.
Absolutely beautiful! The colors, the detail, everything just looks so nice!
Truly, I always wanted to make my own guitars and inlay Celtic patterns! This is a remarkable coincidence. Regards, John Fletcher
AMAZING, WHAT A CRAFT ! PATIENCE, PRECISION ... LOOKS GREAT !

Magnificent inlay work.
A work of utter beauty.
As an aspiring luthier I just found myself in paradise when I found your channel. Thank you for sharing all of this with so much care. This piece in particular is one of the most beautiful artworks I've ever seen.

Thanks Andrew. Credit goes to John @ Labels Extreme who designed and cut the inlay though .
Amazingly stunning!
The nicest fingerboard I've ever seen!! 👏
Inspirational as always David.
Your videos continue to amaze me with every new one you put up. It's like eating in a fine restaurant, where when they serve you it looks beautiful, but not like there's much on the plate to fill you up like a greasy burger joint would. You know....'millions served'! But after you finish a meal at Fletcher's restaurant, you're both full, extremely satisfied and feel like you just had the best meal of your life. You're fine dining and I'm MacDonald's. But the world needs both;-) But yours is just a bit more special. You disappear for months and then serve up another meal that would MAKE OLD GORDON RAMSAY WEEP! Thanks for the incredible meal. I feel like I should leave a tip;-)

G'day Nelson, I'm quite impressed with the fact that you managed to get the words "McDonalds" and "Gordon Ramsey" into a comment about a fretboard inlay ! ;-) Hehe Cheers mate !

Absolutely incredible!
That's simply EPIC!
Oh my! That is truly beautiful and the colours with the effervescent turquoise 'n' Gold pearl is wondrous against the dark ebony. I wish I could have a guitar with features like this, Ebony is my favourite wood for fretboards and I always dream about having a guitar built with a one piece ebony neck and maybe a design on the headstock too.
Man ... that is next level right there ....
WOoo man totally worth it waiting for this video, amazing the work with Cnc, and obviusly your concentration on Details, in each video a learn more and more with you, thanks for sharing,

Absolutely Beautiful
wow amazing craftwork Fletcher
that person is at the top of their game. beautiful.
stunning...great work man..
beautiful work!
Stunning
Beautiful. Lovely design. I have a friend who does inlay work in a very similar fashion. The only difference is I send him fretted fretboards. Although I do use stainless steel fret wire and they do last a very long time, I have had to refret a couple and It makes it easier.
fantastic work!
Beautiful!

That CnC sure beats the hell out of using a jewelers saw where every stroke as to be perfect and that's what many of us get paid for. Very nice indeed.
ABSOLUMENT MAGNIFIQUE !

Catching up on some FHG videos and what a way to start. Sure it's all CNC machined but still, amazing detail with perfect results.
Yes that CNC machine did a nice inlay job.
Uma obra de arte!
Oh the things I would do with a CNC machine. Dirty, dirty things.
Fantastic!

Just think about it for a moment, all this was done by hand back in the days. Has technology made things easier, or made us dumper. Great job no the less.

wow what a great job could you tell me who the music is from 55 sec to 441 man thats my kinda music great jam
VERY COOL!!
great very cool
So very much interesting.
This is awsome man! how many cost this kind of inlay?
Amazing job to say the least. Real art! How can I get one too please? Where are you from?
sick!
That's just insane!!! In a good way. Damn that's amazing. I wonder what a fret board like that would cost.... 8-)
How much clearance do you leave between the machine cut out, and the actual size the the pearl to be inlayed for the machine to cut.
Magnifico!

In general how many passes do you use to cut Mother of Pearl? thx. I keep breaking bits doing 4 passes.
What feed rate did you use for carving the inlays, and how many vertical passes did you have it do?
hello i would like to ask. i Use aspire too for fret slotting but it takes too long as it cuts one pass and then the router lifts up to go back and cut again...is there any way so as to cut side to side?
What was your tolerance between the male and female inlay parts to get a snug, but not too snug fit?
Was the tang clearance to prevent cracking?
thank you for sharing this. I love the design and the way it was done is impressing. personally I think this kind of thing should be on a fretless instrument, its a shame to install frets in the middle of such a nice work
My God! That fretboard looks incredible! One of THE nicest I've ever seen. What would something like that cost to have done, including materials and labor? I would guesstimate around $400 - 500 USD?
I would like to ask what kind of glue you use here, can it stick unsteadily? Why not 502
I see you got a new camera! Very lovely work like always!

Thank You for all Your videos (all Your`s guitars are the MASTERPIECE). I only dream to reach such level in guitar building. What software do You use to create blueprint for this inlay ( i think this is not AutoCad nor Solidworks). Sorry for my bad English (i am not from English speaking country).

Nike Lialka Hi, I think John used a software program called Aspire to lay out the inlay
Anyone know of a service in the UK which will do the same?
Wow!
hi it`s realy beauty , can tell me cnc machine model and cnc bit size please ???
Poderia me ajudar? Agradeço muito
godly work, im thinking about ordering a custom guitar from fletcher
What software did you use to run your CNC? What was the size of your smallest end-mill bit?
Stunning!!
Being a celtic art fan, That has to be the most beautiful inlays I have ever seen! I guess it is too much to hope that this guitar build that this fretboard is matched to is going to be on video.....?

i must say this is probs the nicest fretboard i have actually seen, so elegant in design.
super master guitar
when cutting for the frets why the larger pockets through the inlays 7:24 ..?
one thing i was going to ask is do you know what that drilling machine is called, it looks like an amazing piece of machinery that can open up an endless world of fretboards
@FletcherHandcraftedGuitars

Its a CNC machine - And your right, it opens up ENDLESS ideas for fretboard inlays :-)

thats awesome thank you very much Mr Fletch, one thing i want to spend a lot of time doing is creating unique fretboards, i think no matter how amazing a guitar body is if the fretboard is plain (though not in all cases) it can take the wonder off of the look of the final piece of art.
How much to do my Custom inlay/ design for a 24 frets/fretboard...?
Wow fantastic! I could only imagine the emotion it would create for the musician playing such a instrument.Ha ha buddy asking $400-500 US! I'm sure there is over 10 hours on that project, probably even 20?
lindo isso
Plz can you tell me the name of the Cnc machine and where to buy? and as well name of materials you used. I just hobby craft wood and I still I didn't know a lot of materials name . you are very good. Thank

amazing intricate job!! holy crap. i just wanna do an inlay of mother of pearl for a box i'm making for my daughter by hand. i have 20yrs of carpentry experience, but am struggling with doing the inlay correctly...can anyone point me to a vid that explains how i can do it by hand...i have dremel's and stuff, just need some direction.
WOW!
Hello Mr. Fletcher..do you know of a product to mix up and tint/color and pour your own inlays such as an epoxy ? Also what do you think about tinting Timber Mate and packing it into the inlay hole...just wondering your thoughts..thanks
@FletcherHandcraftedGuitars

Epoxy will work but Timbermate wont, its too soft and will powder away.
