I want to share one way to approach a car console to be wrapped in vinyl material.
Besides, I am showing some useful tips that could be applied in a similar job.
Despite of being from a cheap Nissan car, its console shows some level of difficulty for the upholstery process. It was not really an easy task!
The first tip is, as the surface is too oily it was necessary to sand off its surface to get adhesion of the glue.
I used polyurethane glue for the glueing process. Very useful for hollow areas. As I mentioned before it allows us to line up the vinyl piece before heat application.
One of the most significant obstacles to overcome was the central hollow/concave area. I had to resort to a stretching and molding technique I will share in a next video.
It is very important to consider the thickness of the vinyl we are working with, in order to reduce/skive the plastic surface edges.

I want to thank you for posting these videos. I have a car that had a worn out leather wrapped steering wheel. After a lot of googling and phone calls I discovered that none of the car upholstery shops did that sort of work. I gradually picked up a number of inexpensive leatherworking tools and a supply of scrap and started making a few things, wallets, keyrings, tool pouches, and learning how to skive and stitch. I've watched a number of your videos including the multipart series on car steering wheels. Specifically, your methodology in measuring and compensating for the gap/radius. I recently completed my steering wheel. It has a few minor flaws but overall turned out very well. I wouldn't have attempted this job, or learned anything about leathercraft if not for your teachings. Thank you!

Unfortunately, I do not have a special video for this matter. But, definitely a triple transport (walking foot) sewing machine is the best to do leather upholstery (car seats, bags, cushions, etc.) kzread.info/dash/bejne/h2d8pLp7dKexn9I.html The well known trademarks are: Pfaff, Adler, Juki, Consew, Singer, Brother, etc. It could be a used one, not necessarily a new one.

The plastic oily surface should be first sanded off, then cleaned with thinner. The next step is the application of the polyurethane glue all over.
