What a fabulous condo! Most of us couldn't afford such a place in any other comparable country that's for sure. Because of your and Amelia and JPs videos we travelled to Ecuador and really liked the feel of it and the people, even though we can't speak Spanish. We were more comfortable there than if we were in New York, Chicago and even Miami or Vancouver Canada which all cater to tourists but come with criminal risks on the street. We simply didn't feel at risk in Ecuador even on the between-city busses. It's is a good place to live, try it and see for yourself.

How have things been since the recent events involving all the political figures in Ecuador?

Good evening Edward! The recent issues have been political, nothing towards the general public. Everyone still walks around Manta and the local offices have increased police presence just to be sure and safe. We are still very safe in comparison to other areas like Mexico, Panama and of course the unfortunate violence that continues to plague the US. We do of course look forward to the new President and things getting more on track around the country, but again the majority in Manta still feel safe to go about regular life and enjoyment!

@@surf01er66 good morning! Yes, that was installed as that part of the wall backs up to a vacant lot. This is very common place around Central and South American countries. No barb wire, it's electric, very typical and normal for Central and South America, and that's due to no companies like Brinks, ADT etc like you have in North America that are used by millions of people. That being said, in over a decade of living here full time, I can't think of one time that I heard of a condo like this being broken into. We don't worry about home invasions, or school shootings, or mass shootings etc like are unfortunately occurring daily in the US. Have a great week!

@@mastersparkyful we have never once not acknowledged the very unfortunate passing of our Mayor. Not once. He was an incredible Mayor, arguably the best we have ever had, I met with him multiple times, and I will always say how great he was. But that was political, it was not towards the public, and that is the biggest difference between Ecuador and the US. The US unfortunately has violence towards the public growing daily. More mass shootings, school shootings, mall shootings, road rage shootings, home invasions, murder, racism, hatred towards each other, division, etc etc etc. and daily in the US. We do not have those issues and all of that violence here, like the US has to deal with.

@@EcuadorShoresRealty The president of Equador legalizes guns due to rising crime about a year ago and 4 days ago KZreadr Don Shader talks like he wants to leave Equador, KZreadr Itchy feet on the cheap robber of their cash at gunpoint and have no interest in returning to Equador. Of course they aren't pigeon holed Into trying to sell in Equador to survive.

@@mastersparkyful You mean the "Itchy Feet KZreadr" who was robbed in....wait for it....Cambodia? Which I believe is on the other side of the planet from Ecuador. So yes, we will continue with the majority of other foreigners and locals alike enjoying Manta, the beach life, and being thankful that the violence is nothing like the US is currently plagued with. Add to the US problems of high costs of living, high costs of healthcare, high taxes, high costs of food, etc etc etc. And the President here lifted some of the bans on guns but it is still incredibly arduous and expensive to attain one here. If you aren't interested in Ecuador that is perfectly fine amigo, no worries at all and we wish you nothing but the very best. If you are still questioning things and want to find the truth, then we welcome you to come for a visit and we will be happy to help recommend good places to stay, eat, socialize, and enjoy the area so that you may see things for yourself.
