Part 16: • Curtis Carroll on How ...
Part 1: • Curtis "Wall Street" C...
--------
Curtis "Wall Street" Carroll recently sat down to discuss the differences between investing and active trading, emphasizing that most people, especially from marginalized communities, will never adopt traditional investment strategies. Carroll explained that the fast-paced mindset prevalent in these neighborhoods makes it unlikely for residents to engage in long-term investment plans. Carroll argues that active trading serves as a more appealing entry point for these individuals, as it aligns with their need for quicker returns and their existing pace of life. He notes that unlike traditional investments, which require substantial time and patience, active trading offers immediate educational benefits and financial opportunities without the severe risks often faced in their day-to-day lives.
In contrast, Vlad mentioned his preference for a buy-and-hold strategy, sharing how monitoring his portfolio daily has helped him understand market rhythms and manage emotions better. Vlad highlighted that, historically, the S&P 500 has offered stable returns over time, stressing the importance of patience in investments-albeit acknowledging it's not a guaranteed outcome. Ultimately, Carroll and Vlad agree that while there are multiple paths to financial success, active trading could be a pragmatic approach for those in communities where long-term investing isn't as feasible.

I used to trade TSLA back in 2014. It was even more volatile then. I traded the underlying, and options. Made thousands, lost thousands. Overall, after years of trading & paying commissions(back then there wasn’t free trading), and taxes, I probably broke even. I spent countless hours looking at moving averages, indicators, volume, gap fills, etc…. At the end of the day, had I just kept my original amount, it would now be worth 6 figures-despite the stock being down from all time highs. INVEST little by little over a long time. Not even hedge funds with billions of dollars at their disposal can properly time the market. Plus, it takes time away from you. By the way, people think there’s no commission on trades, but you just end up getting fkd on the spread.

Well, just to expand. You can declare "day trader status" when you do enough trades to reduce capital gains tax, by stretching out loses over years. And also you can create a Roth IRA and trade within that account with no tax liability, if, you're willing to leave the money in there/or be willing to be taxed if you pull funds early.

Great interview and nothing but the truth. My total portfolio has been up 37% over the past six years. I've tried to convince people that investing is the way to go for wealth building, but most never listen. Like the previous interview, they think their primary home is an investment. I'm like, no it's not. It's a place for you to live. You took out a mortgage on that property, meaning you can't do anything with it because the bank owns it until you pay it off. You can't show me how you've made any money on the house, nor can you liquidate the property at any time and turn it into cash. You need somewhere to live, right? With stocks you can buy, sell, and trade whenever you want. Straight liquid cash.

As a trader I can tell you Vlad has NO IDEA what he’s talking about. Likes to create argument to sounds knowledgeable. Day trading and Long term holding are two totally different things.

Vlad, we aren't wanting to hear you interview yourself. Please just be quiet, like you were with Vivek, and let the persons talk without your interruptions!!!

I’ve never seen Vlad talk so much during an interview or tell a former drug kingpin “we’re not going to promote violence”. He lets them tell their story. He’s interjected many times during this interview.

Vlad isn’t making any sense he invested money and never sells or hardly ever sells. So if he never sells he’s not making any money. You have to sell in order to make money when it comes to stocks or crypto.

Be careful with that “guarantee” word. You don’t need FINRA or the SEC asking too many questions.

All trading with an edge is implied insider, hedge funds and venture capitalists do it daily............the ? is what can they prove. All major movement in the market is insider, think about this who is on the floor at wall street and who are they talking to everyday.

Seems like vlad is just content on trying to prove this brother wrong. He won’t let he speak 🗣️ and teach. He needs to go on earn your leisure and drop his jewels. Vlad you need to learn to be a better listener in order to be a good leader you need to be a good listener. The only time we stop learning is when we’re dead!
