Cursing: English vs Italian, according to Marc Ribot

Marc Ribot's Ceramic Dog's astounding new album Connections peddles in the trio's trademark genre-hopping, virtuoso performances. The tunes feature elements of glam boogie, minimalist disco, psychedelic boogaloo, garage-punk, and so much more. Like several songs on the album, Heart Attack features Ribot's vocals. But on this tune, his singing is more like scatting. A close listen reveals passages of swearing in two languages. In this video Ribot speaks about the genesis of the fun, hard-hitting track. As Ribot explains it, the cursing "was a formal device" in songcraft.
