This is a great scenario! But there's one thing you should know about the North American continent to make the intensity scale more accurate. The soil/ground of east of the Rocky Mountains are very very old rocks. So ground shaking affects a larger area because amplitudes of seismic waves decrease more slowly in the east than in the west as distance from the causative fault increases. This is because most of the rocks formed hundreds of millions of years before those in the West. So the intensity scale of the surrounding states within 500 miles (in the case of this scenario) would at least be a shindo 6-. While 1,000 miles away from the epicenter, it would at most be a shindo 5-. Not sure if you knew of this, but just wanted to let you know!

Due to all the low lying land in louisiana I believe this thing can go at least 30-50 miles inland. Would be the most single catastrophic tsunami ever recorded in human history
