Right?!?!🤣🤣
People sometimes poke fun at me for how protective of my hair I am, but it's like if you spent 3 hours dry finger detangling, taking a shower washing, sometimes twice, conditioning & more detangling, plucking from your fingers & then setting aside the shedding hairs, partially rinsing, squishing again, fully rinsing, leave in, partially rinsing that out after more detangling, brief skin care, detangling, styling, diffusing, & then carefully sleeping in the cast only to wake up & apply a bit of oil & then a super quick hit with the diffuser for a volume boost, you too would protect your hard work!

3 hours? I'm maybe 10 mins prep after a shower and 5-10 mins diffusing. I don't have thick hair, but it's long. I get being protective though just because they'll frizz up my curls. 😊 It still doesn't keep random people from touching it though.
Out of the (seemingly) millions of curly girl videos I have watched recently, this is by far my favorite. I feel so validated and completely normal now. Lol

I wasn't expecting it to be funny like this! 🤪 Thanks for the laughs!
This was GREAT! Your videos are always so informative and I love that you actually show us what you're using, exactly how you apply it, offer multiple tips & tricks... Even better when you're silly with the video and make us laugh while we learn! 😁
You are HILARIOUS!!! I’ve been watching your videos all day long. Today is going to mark the first day of this method.
Found you since yesterday. I am going to start this weekend with my final wash. You are so helpfull and I have zero expectations for the next couple of months. This video made laugh and gives me a heads up to what is coming.
Girl, you are so entertaining! Love it!
this video was so fun to watch and so informative! I finally learned how to do my hair!!! Thank you and thanks for the laughs too.
This was so funny, even though parts were accurate. Thankfully, because there are so many of you who have paved the way, my journey-which I started 3/2022, has been a little easier. Your videos along with a few others have helped me figure out how I need to style my hair. Ps- I’m an upright styler, upside down my hair knots up, not matter how much product I use!
I know this is semi-joking, but I actually found out by accident that taking a break from diffusing around the 75% mark makes a big difference with my curls. It started when my son woke up one time & it took me about 10 minutes before I could continue. I ended up w/no halo frizz, a thing I struggled with for a long time. I didn't think anything of it until a couple washdays after that, I had forgotten to get my little claw clips out, that I like to put in around 75 - 80% dry for root lift & better root curl. I couldn't find them & again stopped diffusing for about 10 minutes & again got better results than usual. Long story a tiny bit shorter, lol, I now always take a 5 to 15 minute break around the 3/4 Mark. Idk, it just works for me

This was so funny. It's fun to step back and laugh at ourselves. I hardly know anything yet about CGM. The after in this video did look so gorgeous. Am interested to learn a non-toxic, simple enough version without too many products. Not sure where to start but saw this channel, Manes by Mel, and India something (blonde, blue eyes) channels most recommended so will see if I can figure it out. I love when the wave comes out in my hair and feel more me when it does. There's not much of it but sometimes it shows up.
AMAZING result and video, Thanks for sharing what you do and use step by step, its SOOOOOOOO Helpful!!! I also had a good laugh:))
Best sarcasm I've heard in a while. Hilarious! 🤣🤣 Thank you for brightening the day
Great video. It was funny and to the point for any curly girl beginner watching it. Thank you for the laugh.👍😂😂🥰
Oh, the sarcastic but honest commentary! You're so funny. Thanks for the laugh. I thought I was making too much of the process, but it seems it's universally tedious. I was hoping to be able to graduate to a point where it's not as tedious. I'm losing hope after seeing this, since you've been at it for years now. I've only started a couple months ago. Oh boy. The whole slipping in the bathtub thing, tho. Yikes, I almost did. That slip is great on hair, but not on the floor of the tub. Definitely rinse out that tub afterwards, folks!
By far my favorite video!😄 You are so fun! I'm here bc after 50 years of bone straight hair, hormones have played a trick on me and now I have lots of inconsistent curls. I have NO idea how to fix this mop. So.... relearning what to do with my new hair. 🤔
Love this video! Thank you so much.😂❤
I love this! Never knew diffusing was so easy (yet boring) and that scrunching a lot actually gives the best results. It looks like you have hair like mine. What products do you use and how do you not have any frizz? I normally air dry my hair in a down ponytail to keep the frizz and annoying maybe curls out of the top half of my hair and have been using some curl mousse and some argan oil to keep it soft and hydrated. I got very fine wavy hair
This is amazing! And so true! Guilty of the scrunchie top knot!!
I prefer washing my hair upside down. I have dry hair but my scalp gets oily quickly so this method makes it easier for me to control where the conditioners go. I find it also gives me more volume and makes scrunching easier for me. I love all your videos and this one really made me laugh 😂❤️
This was great. I only recently discovered my fine once straight hair has morphed into wavy hair. Still learning the techniques and sorting through products. It's a lot of work, so I got quite a laugh out of this... but it's all worth it! Loving what my hair has now become, and looking forward to learning more from your channel!

This is terrific! I cannot tell you how many times I have thought, "is there actually any science to support squish to condish? Because it makes ZERO sense to me how that could ever possibly be a thing. We don't squish our skin to get the products to absorb. I highly doubt the keratin of hair is THAT different. Squishing just produces frizz for me, so I've given up even trying any more

@KayoEll
2 жыл бұрын
I'm still waiting to fund someone who says that what works for "most" curly women (seriously... why do we say girls?) works for them. Yes, it is true to say that you probably shouldn't was every day, you should probably avoid most sulfates, and you you probably shy away from silicones. But industrial chemistry is constantly evolving... there are newer silicones that cause less buildup, and gentler sulfates that can be helpful when used sparingly.

@Lu G, I have fine wavy hair too, and doing all the things she is doing makes my hair feel thick and sticky and weighed down! It doesn't look great either, though that could be user error. I can't get past the feeling of having so much product in my hair though. What is your method? Do you mind sharing? Thanks!
@Lu.G.
Жыл бұрын
@@o_O..No. I can't stand that "too much product" feel, either and I'm happy to tell you what works best for me! In the shower, with my hair soaking wet and applying upside down, I use a small amount of Raw Curls Curl Cream (which I never thought I would do because I tend to stay away from creams). Using praying hands and then gently raking it through from about half-way down to the ends. Then I use a mousse or foam (I prefer Raw Curls Styling Mousse/Foam, but I"m trying to work through some products 😂the Herbal Essences works pretty well for me and so does Innersense). Anyway, I take a decent amount of mousse and apply it the same way I apply the curl cream. Then, I kind of do a flip/flop using a flour sack towel (meaning, I grab my towel, wrap it around my head tying two corners together at my forehead and stand up straight - quickly but carefully - and my hair kinda plops on top of my head. I secure the flour sack towel, get dressed and then take my hair down (so it's only up about 5 minutes) and diffuse. Does that help?! 😬

Yay, good! And remember, it is a marathon not a sprint. Focus on the health of your hair and give yourself grace!
Yall should try the brand Luseta. Its expensive on their website but if u have a marshalls, burkes, or burlington near u its a fraction of the cost and its free of alot of things. Do read which type u get bc they do work per what they say. The biotin ones do really help ur hair grow and thicken ur hair if u have thin fragile hair like mine
Courtney have you ever used 100% Aloe Gel as a styler gel? I’m curious why many don’t use it…I’m new to CGS ( actually I tried earlier & was too impatient to stick with it….but I’m back at it…deep diving into it through KZread videos). Would you recommend Aloe? If not why?

She made a video on that. The aloe didn't seem to hold and stop frizz as well as it could when using just leave-in conditioner then aloe - so her thought was on wet hair to use curl cream then the aloe.
If you had to choose between leave in conditioner vs gel or mousse, which would you choose? I just don't have the time for 2 products lol

She's kind of roasting her routine the whole video. It does work for her, obviously, but she also has been working on this particular method for something like 4 years. I have much less wavy hair than Courtney, but I appreciate all her advice about taking care of my hair. If you've actually been straightening your hair for that long, most of it is probably damaged enough so you'll have to cut the damaged parts off at some point. But while you're transitioning from heat straightened to wavy hair, you only really have to do a few things differently. Here's what I do: Wash with a sulfate free shampoo 2x/week, use tangle teaser scalp massager, squish to condish, rinse out conditioner. I like to use a leave-in conditioner on soaking wet hair and squish some more. Then I use styling products. I like gels and sometimes a foam, just make sure they don't have drying alcohols. I try to diffuse my hair most wash days. I think Gena Marie has a great diffusing technique video. I like to use a regular sulfate shampoo or a chelating (to remove hard water build up) shampoo once a month. I deep conditioner at that time. I don't usually use any styling products on that day. In between washes, I might mist my hair with distilled water and detangle. Then I scrunch some more. Sometimes I diffuse after. It gets easier. Mostly I try to remember that I'm making MY hair as healthy as I can. If it looks more wavy or less frizzy, that's good too 😊.
