The lecture is quite scholarly, but the low resolution graphics are not. I'm not having resolution issues with other artworks today so I don't think it's my network connection. Hopefully the National Gallery will look into this and solve the problem. Durer's masterpieces must be seen clearly for them to be inspiring and edifying.

Great lecture. I've always been interested in Durer's work but he seems to have been a nice guy too. As with Leonardo, we can get a good idea of his personality thanks to the survival of his notebooks.

I’ve loved all the videos on Dürer I’ve been lucky enough to have visited the national gallery a couple of times you could spend a week there and it still not be long enough . It’s nice to know a little about the artists too , you recently did Caravaggio, number 1 in my top 3 followed by Van Gogh and Wassily Kandinsky . Thank you so much

It is a great pity that the upload is of poor quality. This makes very tiring viewing of what would otherwise be an excellent presentation.

A very detailed and comprehensive study and lecture of this astonishing artist. Albrecht Durer has been a great inspiration in my life. Curiously, there was no mention of him meeting with Da Vinci? I was under the impression that there was some connection at some point. Was I misinformed? Thank you again.

Very much enjoyed this presentation ~ however the imagery (for the most part) was nearly illegible due to chronic and pulsating compression artifacts. Maybe it could be re-uploaded in four parts at a higher fidelity and more visually communicative effective (spatial) resolution ? Many thanks AND -------> GREAT to learn of new research being brought about as a result of this exhibition and project ! [Kind of what it's "All about" 🤠 ].

Very eloquently laid at the feet of this remarkable man, made larger than life by his considerable talents and business acumen. I became a devotee to his use of Silverpoint at a very young age, once I gleaned just what a tour de force in subtle detail this medium was capable of capturing by it's adroit manipulation and favor of the artist. His Hare is ecstasy, rivaling and surpassing in great leaps, many of the studies of fauna done both before and after, by many great master. The copper engraving, etchings, and woodcuts carry the weight of the Christ child upon St. Christophers' shoulders, and yet shine long upon a world grown drear and lifeless by arts own fascination with impediments long devoid of meaning. His Melecholia work suggest to the artist of that time, as well as art historians are apt to suggest far more than the world still knows.. Sadly I'll not see these delights at your sabled saloon, as all will have gone to their respective places very soon, but my warm regards go with you for your efforts in presenting them here alone. My thanks, and best wishes to your continued efforts.

That was wonderful. Very concise and informative. I didn't know much about Durer prior, but now I am both more knowledgeable and have an appreciation for his work. Thank you so much. Through all these wonderful videos I'm able to see and learn so much that otherwise never would be available to me. My life is much richer for it.

Wonderful talk but I found the close-ups of the paintings were highly pixelated which was a shame.

35:56 Snakes coming out of Death's head = Horn of the Devil = Comet passing through the sky.

Good talk . Perhaps there could be more detail only of the drawings or paintings. Portraits are very Germanic and Northern in style.

I enjoyed this presentation, and will try to visit this exhibition, but Credit Suisse are an absolutely vile organisation. The link between art and amoral bankers seems to be one that persists through the ages. A great pity.

Very interesting, very well researched and explained. What I find peculiar and out of place are some of the subjective comments about certain politically sensitive topics such as “antisemitic” characterization, “patronizing” comments about a female artist, “atrocities” committed in Mexico…. These, in my view, reflect a personal interpretation of the speaker of certain works, words or facts, to please an audience that is obsessed with judging the past using present postmodern ideas instead of making an effort to understand and learn.

A curator pointing out legitimate social/cultural effects of a piece of art that happen to connect with contemporary, topical issues does not mean we are not understanding and learning - rather the opposite.

I'm sorry, but the visuals are so blurry that I'm going to have to bail. Durer is a bad choice for bad reproduction.
